In reply to FatAlbert1020. because we are years ahead of them on the other consoles. We have established catalogs with full game libraries. Also if people really wanted Nintendo's 1st party games then the Gamecube & Wii U would've sold better. Their games are niche and are not console sellers.

In reply to bobby. I very much doubt Nintendo will use a next gen GPU that would run on it own into hundreds of pounds. This console still need to be price competitive with PS4 and Xbox one.

to be fair though, i believe the source article only lists “main line Pokemon game” and not actually Sun and Moon. could it mean that Nintendo is planning another Pokemon game already? assuming Beyond Destiny isn’t slated to come out until late 2017 or 2018, it might not be impossible.
Main Pokemon has never been on home consoles, but these rumor also have the NX being a fusion of Handheld and Home console (which if true means that there probably wouldn’t be a handheld successor for Pokemon to move to later on either)
