During its FY Q4 earnings call, Activision announced a profit of $1.08 billion on revenues of $4.76 billion in 2011. This is a pretty big improvement over their profit of $418 million on revenues of $4.45 billion in 2010.

Activision also announced that  Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure was the No. 1 kids of game of 2011, and that the firm sold 20 million toys based on the franchise. They’re also released a new game in the franchise, Skylanders Giants, in 2012.

Blizzard announced that Diablo III has been delayed to Q2 2012 (April-June), and the period will also see the release of either Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm or World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria (most likely).

World of Warcraft, the mega successful MMO, is still going strong, despite the threat from The Old Republic, ending the year with 10.2 million subscribers, down from 10.3 million at the end of 2011 Q3 (September).
