It does not seem you understand the hidden object game (HOG) genre very well.

It&#039;s a popular genre. You will find above a hundred of HOGs on

Players who like HOGs are specifically attracted in the gameplay that consists in screening scenes and searching for objects. They are not primarily willing to solve puzzles of logical reasoning, match inventory items on scenes, or interact with other characters, as they would in a point-and-click adventure. A bit of that in a HOG can sometimes be OK, but too much of that would typically get in the way.

&quot;Actual Crimes: Jack The Ripper&quot; is *not* a point-and-click adventure. It&#039;s a HOG. It seems to me that you approached the game with wrong expectations, hence your disappointment.

If you compare it with other HOGs, then it compares fairly well and has nothing to be ashamed of.
