Nintendo’s new major update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now live. It should be downloaded automatically so make sure your Switch is connected online. Update 1.2.0 adds two new merchants to the island – Leif and Jolly Redd – though they may not appear immediately so don’t panic.
Leif will provide flower seeds, foliage and shrubs for players to decorate their island with. Redd, on the other hand, offers different furniture and art. An interesting hook with his art is that it can be either fake or real. If real, the art can be donated to the museum.
Other new additions with this update include the start of Nature Day, which focuses on gardening, forestation and other nature-themed activities. You can earn extra Nook Miles by completing such tasks until May 1st. The event will be available until May 4th but another event, the May Day Tour, will commence on May 1st till 7th and whisk you away to a mysterious island to meet a “special visitor.”
In other news, Animal Crossing: New Horizons has set new record for digital sales on console in March 2020 with five million digital units sold.
