If they follow in Destiny's footsteps, as they're clearly already somewhat doing, and leave loot boxes limited to cosmetic items or other non-gameplay items (other than slight XP boosts), I will be fine with it.

the worst part:

seeing games we all played and loved, being destroyed by EA, because they tried to monetize the game, and because they didn't make what they expected, they simply kill it.

Dead space... such an amazing and revolutionary title...they put microtransactions on DP3... the game didn't sell. KO.

Mass effect. my top 3 games ever. they totally destroyed Andromeda, now, we won't have any other game like mass effect 1-3. KO.

how many other great series are EA-Activision-Pubisoft going to destroy ?

it's too sad, seeing our beloved passion being treated like a corn, oil, etc, business, where only cash matters.

just a few years ago, any publisher would be happy to spend 10 millions in a game, and make 30 or 40M.
then, making a 20 million game and making 70 or 90 millions was a great deal.

today, if a publisher spends 30 millions, they won't be happy if they don't make at least 300 or 400 millions.

in just a few years, we went from:
spent/made (ex 1-2: 20M spent, 40M made)
1-2 : great
1-3:incredible sales
1-5 like the company has won the jackpot

to
1-2 : studio could be closed
1-3: no more sequel
1-5: unacceptable
1-8 (ex: 20M spent, 160M made) shareholders are soo sad
1-10: not bad, can do better
1-15: (20M spent, 300M made) not bad
1-30: 20 M spent, 600M made the game might have a sequel
1-60: 20M spent, 1.2Billions made : let's try to reach the 2 billions
1-100: 20M spent, 2billions made: we can do better next time

big companies won0t be happy until they grab 50% of the whole industry, until every single player spends ALL the cash he has.

LOL... Let's pretend that we believe Holmes, and that EA has no right to force Bioware implement microtransactions inside Anthem.

For those who don't know... EA owns Bioware, and they can and will say stfu to Bioware's devs. Also, EA will very likely end up destroying Anthem (like they did with Andromeda... forcing Bioware Montreal use Frostbite delaying very much the game development and cutting costs with facial animation and story). At the end if Anthem doesn't meet EA sale expectations, they will just close Bioware like they did with Visceral Games and move on.
