Assassin’s Creed Film Receives New Trailer, Delayed to January 1st 2017

The movie adaptation will be a little late.

The upcoming Assassin’s Creed film has received a new trailer featuring Callum Lynch (played by Michael Fassbender) participating in all manner of violence. This includes the present day wherein he’s captured by Abstergo and in the past as his ancestor during the Spanish Inquisition. Plenty of neck-stabbing, hidden blade action and Jeremy Irons appearing menacing can be seen.

Perhaps the more interesting thing to note is that the film will no longer be releasing on December 21st 2016. Instead, it will be out on January 1st 2017. We’re not sure what the reason for the delay is. Maybe Ubisoft wants to avoid conflict with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story which releases on December 16th?

Regardless, it seem that 2016 actually will be a year without a new Assassin’s Creed, unless that VR Experience is suddenly fast-tracked. What are your thoughts on the latest trailer for the film and its subsequent delay? Let us know in the comments below.
