Assassin’s Creed Film Rumoured to be Headed by Easy Money Director

There has apparently been "persistent talk" to bring in Daniel Espinosa.

We already know about Ubisoft’s upcoming film adaptation for Assassin’s Creed, which Michael Fassbender is both producing and starring. According to Twitchfilm, there has been “persistent talk” on who the director will be. That seems to be Swedish director Daniel Espinosa who is apparently the preferred choice for the producers.

Espinosa is known for the Denzel Washington-Ryan Reynolds thriller Safe House, which received mixed reviews from critics, and Easy Money, which garnered the most admissions for a Swedish film when it released in 2010. Espinosa is currently working on Child 44, a film based on the novel of the same name, with Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman.

As of now, this hasn’t been officially announced by either Ubisoft or collaborator 20th Century Fox. Will Espinosa be the perfect fit for the tale of Altair? We’ll find out if he is indeed on the project. The Assassin’s Creed film is currently expected to arrive in August 2015.
