Assassin’s Creed is Ubisoft’s Top Selling Franchise, 73 Million Lifetime Sales Till Date

Followed by Just Dance with 48 million lifetime sales.

How big is Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed franchise, a franchise which will see not one but apparently two games coming out this year with Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Comet? According to Superannuation (via Kotaku), Ubisoft’s Facts 7 Figures page saw an update recently which put the series total sales at 73 million units. Just Dance came in second with 48 million units. If that’s not a strong indication as to why Ubisoft is still sticking to yearly sequels, then nothing is.

Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy series of games is also immensely popular – Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell sold 30 million lifetime units, followed Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six with 26 million units and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon with 25 million units. Petz is also pretty popular with 24 million units sold till date.

Rumours state that Ubisoft will show off Assasin’s Creed: Unity at this year’s E3 with two demos, one for the single-player campaign and the other to show off the new four player co-op. It will be releasing in the Holiday season for PS4, PC and Xbox One.
