Last I read from W Central is that it’s 4k/60. I’d accept a recent link that says otherwise tho. Since Microsoft didn’t talk about the capture card at E3, I’m curious now. But I’m sticking with Jez atm

Exactly. People keep focusing on the t-flops but the thing that really hurts the Pro is the lack of memory. Scorpio literally has more RAM available for games than Pro has in its entire system. Then when you compare the memory bandwidth its over. Even if Pro could do native 4K on the latest AAA blockbuster, it still wouldn’t have the memory to handle the 4K textures or improved lighting or geometry. Add in the fact that it lacks system level downsampling, free sync, etc and its just too much. I was dead set on buying a Pro when God of War comes out but I just can’t justify spending $100-150 more on Pro. A PS4 Slim is fine. Hopefully PS5 takes fewer shortcuts.

I know the specs of each console, I build computers as well as staying in tune with digital foundry and other reputable sites. Major Nelson blog had Phil Spencer on once discussing the innards of Scorpio. Sony should have added more ram for sure.

I’m not a bandwagon fan, I actually prefer my Xbox due to playing on live with family the most since 2007. I will be buying the Scorpio and give my current X1 to my nephew. PS4 Pro does have native 4K games and yes they have lots more that use checkerboard method. Sony shouldn’t have marketed as a 4K device with such a marginal increase in power. Scorpio did great in GPU CU’s and increased speed and great in added memory bandwidth but on the cpu side it is a marginal increase as well. Scorpio release wool be good for Pro owners though as more devs will now tune games for both mid gen refreshes.

It only does 4K 30fps for game DVR.
