NIS America has announced today that Trinity Universe, released October 2009 in Japan, will be making its way to North America and Europe this June exclusively for PlayStation 3. The game is an all-new RPG created by the combined forces of Nippon Ichi Software, Gust Corp, and Idea Factory.

Trinity Universe brings characters from the Disgaea and Ateleir series together.

Trinity Universe Story (Kanata)
For generations, Kanata’s ancestors have protected the Netheruniverse by transmogrifying into a Demon. However, Demon Kanata refused to become the gem and instead became a Demon Dog King. Since then, he has enjoyed a carefree life in hiding, but he eventually began thinking about the toll of his decision. Accepting the title of Demon and becoming the gemstone will stop space debris from crashing into his world. If he could get to the source of the space debris and solve the problem, everybody will be happy. Determined, Kanata goes on a journey to save his world.

Trinity Universe Story (Rizelea)
Rizelea is a Valkyrie who keeps the galaxy’s peace and harmony. She has been keeping the peace for hundreds of years, but one day she decides to go to the run- down sections of the Netheruniverse to restore the peace there. When she arrives, she learns that the Netheruniverse is constantly in danger from space debris and decides to investigate this matter

To this Twitter post GeoHot states that the PS3 is 100 percent hacked:

Today I verified my theories about running the isolated SPUs as crypto engines. I believe that defeats the last technical argument against the PS3 being hacked.

In OtherOS, all 7 SPUs are idle. You can command an SPU(which I’ll leave as an exercise to the reader) to load metldr, from that load the loader of your choice, and from that decrypt what you choose, everything from pkgs to selfs. Including those from future versions.

The PPU is higher on the control chain then the SPUs. Even if checks were to be added to, for example, verify the hypervisor before decrypting the kernel, with clever memory mappings you can hide your modified hypervisor.

Ah, but you still didn’t get the Cell root key. And I/we never will. But it doesn’t matter. For example, we don’t have either the iPhone or PSP “root key”. But I don’t think anyone doubts the hackedness of those systems.

I wonder if any systems out there are actually secure?

Death Track: Resurrection was released for PC last March, but according to the Entertainment Software Ratings Board, its on its way to PlayStation 3.

The game has been rated Teen, due to ‘Alcohol and Tobacco Reference, Fantasy Violence, Language, Mild Suggestive Themes’.

Here is the full summary of the games rating:

This is an action-racing game set in a futuristic, post-apocalyptic world. Players drive vehicles armed with machine guns, rockets, lasers, and mines through urban landscapes and race courses. Players earn cash rewards for outpacing opponents and destroying their vehicles. Laser and gunfire, explosions, and car crashes can be seen and heard throughout the game. Cutscenes sometimes depict female characters wearing tight, provocative outfits that expose a lot of cleavage. The word sh*t is occasionally heard in dialogue.

The presence of alcohol and tobacco is both explicit and heavily implied. For the tobacco, a cutscene depicts four separate images of cigarettes close-up on a table. As for alcohol (never explicitly named), the same scene shows a clear liquid being poured from a liquor-shaped bottle. This cutscene is stylized such that players can infer the bottle’s contents: frayed cigarette butts, portioned ritualistic serving, a “machine-powering-down” sound effect, screen blurring.

The game was published on PC by 1C Company, but the ESRB list the publishers as Gaijin Entertainment Corporation.
