Konami is "making preparations" to release gameplay footage soon enough.

Konami surprised us all with their co-op multiplayer spin-off of the Metal Gear franchise, Metal Gear Survive, but the studio seems to know what they’re doing. In a recent interview with one of Metal Gear Survive developer staff members, featured in the latest PlayStation Dengeki Magazine, via Play-Asia, the employee was able to answer some questions while avoiding others.

The questions he answered were enough to reveal some new bits of information regarding a few aspects of Metal Gear Survive, such as the customization, which apparently players are going to enjoy, since “you’ll be able to use several weapons such as the Spear or Bow from the announcement trailer,” as well as developing “your own equipment for your own play style too.”

He continued to talk about if the main character will have a Head Quarters of some sort, and he replied positively, mentioning the announcement trailer and the Mother Base featured in it. “As seen in the Announcement trailer, Mother Base will become the starting base. Enemies will be surrounding the base and may attack at certain points,” he said.

In terms of gameplay footage, Konami is currently “making preparations,” so expect an announcement or an official trailer to be released soon. Metal Gear Survive is expected to release for PS4, Xbox One and PC some time during 2017.

The impact of PS4 Neo and Xbox Scorpio on the industry is still not clear whether it's good or bad.

Electronic Arts expressed their excitement for Sony and Microsoft’s upcoming console upgrades, the PlayStation 4 Neo and the Xbox Scorpio respectively. In a recent interview with IGN, Company Executive Peter Moore revealed that the studio is already working on titles for the upcoming consoles.

He complemented both of the company’s work and effort put into the development of the consoles, and he continued to confirm that his studio is currently developing games for both of them. Moore also said that the new hardware “certainly obviously ups the technological output,” with the studio’s staff loving “what they’re seeing right now.”

“I think Sony and Microsoft have done this incredibly well. They have taken what they needed to do whether it’s 4K… to keep the platform fresh for technology that’s moving faster than the archaic nature of a 10-year piece of hardware cycle.”

Sony is expected to officially reveal the PlayStation Neo during next week’s PlayStation Meeting event held in New York City.

Battlefield 1's beta grants you a lot of graphical settings to toy with.

PC fans of EA DICE’s Battlefield franchise must be sitting on the edge of their seats right now, with the game’s beta set to launch tomorrow. Overclock3D got access early, and they were generous enough to share the beta’s graphical options, and the studio is apparently giving players a lot of settings to toy with.

Most importantly is the fact it supports DirectX 12, with a toggle to choose either to switch it on or off. This is not brand new, since Battlefield 1’s earlier closed-alpha players reported the presence of DirectX 12 support in the game. The graphics options enable you to change the quality of almost everything you see such as the texture, terrain, lighting, mesh and more.

You will also be able to choose between low, medium, high, and for those who have the capability, ultra settings. Battlefield 1 releases on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on October 21st.

Consider World of Final Fantasy as an "appetizer" while you wait for Final Fantasy 15.

Square Enix has their eyes set upon October and November, with major releases for the Final Fantasy franchises coming in the forms of World of Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy 15 respectively. During Gamescom, World of Final Fantasy Game Director Hiroki Chiba sat down with DualShockers, and revealed his thoughts on the studio’s delay of Final Fantasy 15.

He clarified that they haven’t changed anything as a result of the delay, since the studio feels very confident towards the game. However, he believes that players will now get the chance to try out World of Final Fantasy while they wait for Final Fantasy 15, describing it as an “appetizer” for those who can’t wait to get their hands on new game related to the franchise.

“We haven’t done any changes to World of Final Fantasy because of the change in the release of Final Fantasy XV. It is the same game, but that being said, we’re very confident in World of Final Fantasy, and the release was close to XV to begin with, so we feel that we have a good chance as a title of our own to shine and to be unique.”

“And of course XV is in itself a very good title, and they’re bringing their best, so we brought our best in World of Final Fantasy as well. Before we were about to say “please have World of Final Fantasy as a sort of dessert after Final Fantasy XV,” but now that the release has switched, you can enjoy it as an appetizer before XV comes out.”

World of Final Fantasy releases on October 25 for PS4 and PS Vita.

New features and mechanics showcased in gameplay walkthrough.

Ubisoft released a brand new gameplay walkthrough for their upcoming sequel, Watch Dogs 2. Animation Director Colin Graham walks us through a couple of missions, one of which is co-op, while showcasing the game’s improved driving mechanics, clothing and how to utilise the applications found on Marcus’ phone.

The video starts out with Graham using a brand new feature called Net Hack, which is similar to another Ubisoft franchise, Assassin’s Creed, since it basically enables you to see objects and people of interest, distinguishing them from the crowd through different colours. He continued to showcase Watch Dogs 2’s improved driving mechanics while he was on his way to the mission.

Another player appeared during Graham’s play session, but since he was friendly, Graham sent him an invite to become a co-op party, enabling him to access a new menu inside the Dedsec app dedicated to co-op missions.

The reports point towards an increase of 1.7 KG in weight and a three-layered design.

Major electronics companies usually don’t manufacture their hardware at their headquarters or such, they tend to give the job to a contract electronics manufacturer, such as Foxconn. They are a Taiwanese-based multinational company well-known for manufacturing devices like Sony’s PlayStation 3 & 4, Nintendo’s WiiU, Microsoft’s Xbox One amongst many others.

Recently, a worker decided to share a simple sketch on the Chinese forum blog A9VG, however, it was pretty clear that the drawings were for Sony’s upcoming console, PlayStation Neo. NeoGAF users were able to pick it up and produce mock-ups of how it will actually look like, which you can see below.

The reports claim that the PlayStation Neo is going to be thicker and heavier than the PlayStation 4’s base model, with a weight difference of about 1.7 KG, which is understandable due to the addition of new hardware components. If you want a thinner version of the console, feel free to purchase the PS4 Slim. Both new consoles are expected to be officially revealed during Sony’s PlayStation Meeting held in New York City.

As you know, Sony’s PlayStation VR headset is just a few months away, which raises the question of what will happen when you own a game that has a VR version as well? Luckily, Sony is going to offer owners of such games, a free VR upgrade, adding PlayStation VR compatibility.

There is a number of games getting offered this free upgrade, including the likes of Hustle Kings, Super Stardust Ultra and Bound. In addition to that, EA DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront is getting a free downloadable add-on that adds PSVR support to the game.

Of course, some games will be purely dedicated and developed for VR, such as DriveClub, which is not going to support this offer, since its VR version is considered as a standalone game, with new tracks, cars, features and more. PlayStation VR headsets are expected to start rolling out on October 13th.

Thanks, VRFocus.

Battlefield 1's open beta is going to feature weapons with multiple variations.

EA DICE’s upcoming iteration of the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 1, is still months away from full release, however, this doesn’t mean we can’t get to experience some World War I action during the game’s open beta period soon enough.

The studio already revealed the map and the modes available for participants, and now it’s time to introduce you to the weapons you’ll be allowed to use. Battlefield Bulletin were able to spot and share several new images, showcasing different weapons and their respective variations.

The weapons featured include the MP 18, Cel-Rigotti, Lewis Gun, Madsen MG and more, with each of them having more than one variation to choose from. The variations include Experimental, Artillery, Trench, Factory, Heavy and Sharpshooter. Thanks to Reddit user R_MA, we were able to find out the differences between them.

Experimental = Weapons with special, “experimental” features. For example, MP18 Experimental is burst fire instead of Automatic.

Artillery = Weapons that are scoped, IIRC, and have better accuracy.

Trench = Weapons that have better hip fire.

Factory = Base weapons with no modifications/atttachments.

Heavy = Shotguns with better accuracy, but bad hip fire, with a slight reduction in damage.

Sharpshooter = Weapons with better control.

Battlefield 1 releases on October 21st for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with the game’s open beta kicking off in a couple of days.

Infinity Ward is starting to wake up from being named YouTube's most disliked trailer a few months ago.

Nobody can forget the race between Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and EA DICE’s Battlefield 1 to the most disliked and most liked trailer on YouTube respectively. Now that time has passed and everything has calmed down, the studio is starting to express their opinion in the community’s reception and how they are dealing with it.

Narrative lead Taylor Kurosaki recently sat down with Eurogamer during Gamescom, and commented on how Infinity Ward dealt and continues to deal with negative comments towards Infinite Warfare. He talked about the increasingly positive reception towards new reveals and announcements.

“What we’ve been seeing is, the more assets we put out, the more the response has got more positive, I’m glad the trend is the way it is. The more people see the narrative, the zero-G combat… They’ve seen Jackal [the game’s fighter jet] gameplay – which is not on-rails, it’s not a one-off.”

“[The criticism] strengthened our resolve. We just had to get back to it and complete our mission. Reyes has a mission to complete, we do too. It’s amazing how analogous some of these things are – the burden of leadership is something a lot of people at the studio feel.”Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare releases on November 4 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Battlefield 1's Premium Pass will be priced at £39.99, and grants you access to the four planned expansion packs.

EA DICE has revealed the price and content included in the Premium Pass for its upcoming fourteenth instalment in the Battlefield franchise, Battlefield 1. It is going to be priced at £39.99/€49.99 and grants you access to the game’s four planned expansion packs as well as early access to any post-release maps, which will supposedly be sixteen.

As detailed on Origin, you will gain instant access to expansion packs the day they release, as well as 16 multiplayer maps, 20 new weapons, 14 unique dog tags and 14 Battlefield 1 Battlepacks delivered monthly starting from when the game releases in November. One of the expansions releasing soon, titled “They Shall Not Pass,” releases some time in early 2017 and adds the French army to the battlefield. There is also a planned Russian army expansion still to be officially revealed.

Battlefield 1 releases on October 21 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Do you intend on buying the game’s Premium Pass? Is the content enough to persuade you?
