The Last of Us is a true gem and has many secrets to prove it.

The Last of Us tells an incredibly poignant story, but it also references a lot of older Naughty Dog properties and other pieces of fiction. No matter what they reference, these secrets are clever and well implemented, making you want to dive back into the destroyed world of The Last of Us another time. Here are 15 fantastic The Last of Us secrets that make you want to replay the game right away.

Jak and Daxter piñatas

Crash Bandicoot may have put Naughty Dog on the map, but Jak and Daxter made them more of a household name. The quirky platforming duo changed drastically with each game, beginning as a colorful platformer, and ending as Mad Max inspired vehicular warriors. The cute piñatas immortalizing the characters in The Last of Us is a great nod to the characters that got the company started, at least those that Sony still owns the rights to.

More the merrier. Here are 15 times you fight multiple bosses at once.

Some boss battles add to the excitement by adding another boss into the proceedings. Fights against multiple bosses aren’t incredibly common, but as soon as we see one begin, we are filled with a sense of dread. Thankfully they are incredibly good boss fights as well, and not just a way to make the game harder.

Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough – Dark Souls 1

When one of these gold-plated giants goes down, the other absorbs their power and just gains more abilities. The fight is tough enough as it is, with two colossi attacking simultaneously, but then the second half of the fight switches to a classic one on one brawl, but it remains just as hard, even when you win you don’t feel like you’ve won. But that’s Dark Souls.

Not every boss battle stays still. Here are 14 boss battles that happen across multiple stages.

Boss battles are meant to test your mettle, putting you up against the best of the best. Some of these use scale to shock the player, while others take players on a small journey, using multiple stages to tell a mini story amidst all of the combat and flurry of blows being exchanged. Here are 14 boss battles that happen across multiple stages.

The End – Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

The End has all the time in the world. He sits back and snipes you quickly and quietly. But each time you find him, a new stage of the battle begins. It is a battle of attrition, slowly wearing him down and cornering him. He is a fantastic boss, so the variety in the battle is fantastic, especially near the end when things begin to heat up. Furthermore, he consistently shifts his location and uses camouflage to take you down.

The more the merrier, right? Here are 15 times you fight sequential bosses.

Bosses sometimes come in pairs, but we don’t mean ganging up on the player. Sometimes you’ll take down one towering foe only to discover that another cowers behind them. Here are 15 times you fight sequential bosses.

Metal Gear Solid 2 – Metal Gear Ray followed by a battle with Solidus Snake

Raiden goes through a lot of tough battles in Metal Gear Solid 2, but the toughest is certainly the wave of Metal Gear Rays that appear out of nowhere to attack the hero at the end of the game, weakening him for his confrontation with the conniving Solidus Snake. And what a finale it’s as Raiden finally gets his revenge on Solidus who killed his parents,

Pirates are a dastardly bunch, but they've starred in some good video games.

Pirates are a dastardly bunch, which naturally makes them great subjects for video games. There haven’t been too many pirate video games, but we’ve selected the 14 best for this list.

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag isn’t really an Assassin’s Creed game. It barely touches on the creed of master killers, instead letting players take control of their own ship and take over the seven seas. Taking over ports, sinking other ships, and swinging to their sinking masses to take out the captain and claim it as your own has never felt more pirate-like.

2018 will be a good year to get behind a digital wheel. Here are the top 15 racing games of 2018 and beyond.

Racing games no longer just focus on speed and the open road, they’ve gotten incredibly diverse and look better than ever. 2018 is already shaping up to be a great year to get behind a digital wheel. Here are 15 racing games of 2018 and beyond for the PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. Do note that some of these games may be in early access.

The Crew 2

The Crew stumbled a bit in its goal to bring a complete map of the United States to gamers. It was a truncated version with a little too much open space and very few landmarks to bring the whole thing together. The sequel looks to remedy this by bringing in a few more toys for players, most notably boats and planes. Now the sky, land and see can be conquered, all tied together by a beautiful open world with an unimaginable amount to see and do.

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red knows what they are doing, and if Cyberpunk 2077 is anything like the Witcher 3 then it will be one of the best games ever created. It will be set in a futuristic noir city, so think the Witcher mixed with Blade Runner and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect.
