Jak and Daxter piñatas

Crash Bandicoot may have put Naughty Dog on the map, but Jak and Daxter made them more of a household name. The quirky platforming duo changed drastically with each game, beginning as a colorful platformer, and ending as Mad Max inspired vehicular warriors. The cute piñatas immortalizing the characters in The Last of Us is a great nod to the characters that got the company started, at least those that Sony still owns the rights to.

Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough – Dark Souls 1

When one of these gold-plated giants goes down, the other absorbs their power and just gains more abilities. The fight is tough enough as it is, with two colossi attacking simultaneously, but then the second half of the fight switches to a classic one on one brawl, but it remains just as hard, even when you win you don’t feel like you’ve won. But that’s Dark Souls.

The End – Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater

The End has all the time in the world. He sits back and snipes you quickly and quietly. But each time you find him, a new stage of the battle begins. It is a battle of attrition, slowly wearing him down and cornering him. He is a fantastic boss, so the variety in the battle is fantastic, especially near the end when things begin to heat up. Furthermore, he consistently shifts his location and uses camouflage to take you down.

Metal Gear Solid 2 –  Metal Gear Ray followed by a battle with Solidus Snake

Raiden goes through a lot of tough battles in Metal Gear Solid 2, but the toughest is certainly the wave of Metal Gear Rays that appear out of nowhere to attack the hero at the end of the game, weakening him for his confrontation with the conniving Solidus Snake. And what a finale it’s as Raiden finally gets his revenge on Solidus who killed his parents,

The Name of the Game

The name Doom actually comes from a quite spoken by Tom Cruise in the movie The Color of Money. In the film, Cruise is opening up a case holding a pool cue so he can play a game with someone. When asked what was in the case he answered “DOOM.”

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag isn’t really an Assassin’s Creed game. It barely touches on the creed of master killers, instead letting players take control of their own ship and take over the seven seas. Taking over ports, sinking other ships, and swinging to their sinking masses to take out the captain and claim it as your own has never felt more pirate-like.

The Crew 2

The Crew stumbled a bit in its goal to bring a complete map of the United States to gamers. It was a truncated version with a little too much open space and very few landmarks to bring the whole thing together. The sequel looks to remedy this by bringing in a few more toys for players, most notably boats and planes. Now the sky, land and see can be conquered, all tied together by a beautiful open world with an unimaginable amount to see and do.

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red knows what they are doing, and if Cyberpunk 2077 is anything like the Witcher 3 then it will be one of the best games ever created. It will be set in a futuristic noir city, so think the Witcher mixed with Blade Runner and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Halo 5

Halo has always been Microsoft’s main focus in the games space. It led the original console to success, and has served as a console seller for every subsequent box. Now, with the Xbox One X officially on shelves, the latest Halo game has also been given a boost. Halo 5 is the best looking game in the series, and one of the best looking games on the platform, now its gameplay and graphics are at their peak, showing us what the next generation of Halo could look like. The game struggled to reach a full 1080p resolution on the original Xbox One but now it can reach native 4K at a blistering 60fps.

The battle between the Assassin’s and the Templars dates back to the holy crusades, but the order dates back even further. Bayek served as a Medjay in Egypt, one of its protectors. His battle against evildoers in the land of kings led to the creation of the order. Not only does it tell the beginnings of the series, but also moved the gameplay forward in major ways.
