Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition, the remake of the seminal CRPG by Bioware that put them on the map and began their meteoric rise as one of the most important developers of the industry, launches next month, and is now already available for pre-order, reports VG247.
The update, which includes enhanced HD graphics, also includes Shadows of Amn and Throne of Bhaal, as well as four new allies for your party, each with their own unique quests.
Also bundled in the Enhanced Edition is The Black Pits 2: Gladiators of Thay, an arena challenge.
You can pre-load the game on your PC and Mac using the Beamdog client, or wait for the standalone installer that is coming up soon.
It will be interesting to see if the game has aged well at all; a lot of the seminal games of the era, both on consoles and on PCs, aged poorly, because the new mechanics that they introduced were all refined and polished in subsequent generations.
