In reply to Mark. yeah, I think consoles excluding this gen, have always brought something new to the table, the Xbox 360 with a lot of features consoles could only dream of having at that time, and the PS3 with the blu ray player was a good option.

I wont even start with this statement,especially with “compromised versions” part.

Consoles did quite well in 3 generations before this one (from Ps1-(mid)Ps3 era for example) compared to the PC-s at the time,especially in “price-to-performance” department.I stated (mid)Ps3 era since after 2009,PC overall beats consoles in both the pricing and “price-to-performance”.

If rumors are anything to be believed in,the next generation of consoles will be stream boxes,so bottle-necking visuals and performance will be thing of the past.

Oh before someone tells me that that wont happened since most of the people don’t have the internet speed good enough for that,pls keep in mind we are talking about consoles that will release post 2020(again,suggested by those very same rumors).

So far the streaming platforms (Nvidia Shield and PS Now for example) demand a MINIMAL of 5 mbps and 20 mbps for OPTIMAL experience.
The current average pricing for 20 mbps is 45$ and it will drop significantly as years go by(not to mention if you are using fiber internet).

All in all,everything is a possibility at this stage as far as consoles vs PC performance goes.

Who cares that’s not the reason people play on consoles. Obviously PC’s will be more powerful. If we cared we would be on PCs! I work all day along with freelance work on computers (Graphic Design/Illustration/IT). Last thing I want to do at end of day is be on a computer again. Need some disconnect, Jesus.

Totally agree Nintendo loses….NX WILL BE WII U.5 …or in closer terms…. Ps3.5 It appears to be using a Tegra K! graphics chip, which is found in Nvidias Shield home console. So It may be on par with Wii U…or a slight upgrade…The Nvidia Tegra K1 was suppose to offer PS3/360 graphics on par…but that was in 2015. So the NX may be running a lil faster than PS3…..think PS 3.5 http://www.eurogamer.net/artic… It will not be PS4/xbox one level or better. Nintendo it seems is not interested in making games to their full potential….before you Nintendo fanboys attack me, Ill say this…imagine the new Zelda and its potential if it was running on a powerful system with specs like PS4.5 Scorpio?? It appears the NX wil be on par with WII U.5 so once again Reggie Fils Aime is correct…they arent interested in teralfops or graphics.

Ok, then. People from DICE simply treat consoles as s… When developing for consoles, they don’t do hardware specific optimisation as excpected. They simply throw a PC code port there and reduce engine presets until they hit 60fps.

In reply to jp. Funny u mention 1999, dude that year I was in love wit DreamCast! It had the best graphics on consoles man. Soul Calibur, Ready to Rumble, NFL 2K, uggh great memories. I'm hoping the Scorpio gives me that feeling again....I want it to be the DreamCast 2! Lmao. Just a great push by both Sony & Microsoft imo

In reply to Mark. Oh I hear you. I'm 100% down for the Scorpio. Its a logical move that allows them to better keep pace with PC. I also hope someday you take the plunge into PC gaming. Its truly incredibly and the freedom it offers is second to none.

In reply to Nintengods. How does the nx win? 2 games are confirmed and xbox and ps4 have over 300 games with almost a hundred more coming out in the next year. And legend of zelda is coming out on wii u also, so unless the 2 consoles have completely different versions, then its not as amazing as people are thinking.
