DICE took the stage during EA’s E3 2011 press conference in Los Angeles today to reveal lots of new goodies for gamers to gush about regarding Battlefield 3.

After three years of development, the release date for the latest game in the hit franchise has been confirmed for October 25 for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. For those of you who can’t wait much longer, there will be a multiplatform open beta in September.

The Swedish gaming studio also announced Battlelog, a social-oriented addition to the game that enables players to manage their friends list; create squads and platoons; or check out in-depth real-time statistics. Battlelog will be free, which is a slight jab at the similarly featured Call of Duty Elite paid service.

BF3 BETA IS NOT RELEASING IN OCT, BF3 OFFICAL RELEASE IS OCTOBER 25th! why would they wait to put the beta that close to full release of the game, BETA BEGINS END OF JULY BEGINING OF AUGUST (That is The Offical Word)

That tweet isn’t from an official EA author so that is not confirmed by EA so it could be earlier than October

For some reason i thought this bf bc 3 until i read a article on another site hey its something new better be some jets and helis n boats and trucks etc just like Battlefield free4play that shit is awesome im in the beta n its pretty coo but its for pc only im lookin foward to this as welll

In reply to joey_kangaroo. i bought medal of honor too. i was a great sniper on those huge maps. loved dropping bombs on the enemy. i think i have a veteran rating of 6 or something like that. i'll be in on the beta to see if i like it better than battlefield bad company 2

I can’t wait for this, I bought Medal of Honour, so I should be able to participate in the beta. I’ve always liked Battlefield games.

In reply to XMBeaner. i believe if you registered your game with ea they will be giving the beta away through the gun club because it tracks all of your gameplay through metal of honor and that is where you will get your beta key and this game is going to be a day one buy for any serious battlefield player i would love to get a pc and ps3 copy for myself there goes $100.
