Nintendo hasn’t been having the best week as its most recent financial year results showed Wii U sales to be at 6.17 million units since launching in November 2012 (for a quick comparison, the PS4 is currently at 7 million units worldwide and the Xbox One at 5 million units as of April, both having been out for six months at the time).
Nonetheless, the firm has plans to bounce back. It will be showing a new 3DS NFC peripheral add-on and will expand its home console lineup towards the smartphone space in an interesting way with a Mario Kart 8 app on the way. According to CVG, two of the bigger releases for the Wii U – Bayonetta 2 and Monolith Soft’s X – are still to be released in 2014.
This is according to Nintendo’s own financial briefing and apparently both games will release across Japan, North America and Europe in this year alone. Expect some more news at E3 2014.
