Beyond Good and Evil 2 is Equivalent to GTA in Space, Story Connects to First Game

Detailed cities and planetary exploration are some key aspects of gameplay.

Thanks to an interview on Twitch hosted by its creator Michel Ancel, we now know more about Ubisoft Montpellier’s Beyond Good and Evil 2.

In the interview, Ancel said there would be more information later this year. A behind the scenes internal demo was showcased at E3. As it turns, the development team has been working on the engine for 3 years so that it could help achieve their goals.

Since this is a prequel, players will learn more about some of the races – like the hybrids who are half human and half animal – and how their story connects to the first Beyond Good and Evil.

Ancel also said that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is the biggest game the team has ever created. Thanks to the engine, planetary exploration, detailed cities and hubs and more are possible, so much so that the developer is considering this similar to Grand Theft Auto in space. The two core aspects of the game are the solo story and c-op so that companions can join in to finish missions.
