Beyond Good and Evil 2 finally made its long-awaited debut at Ubisoft’s E3 2017 presser, albeit in a cinematic trailer. Creator Michel Ancel shared his thoughts about the long-delayed sequel’s trailer in a new breakdown video.
Ancel basically goes through the trailer and offers his take on how some sections will work, gameplay-wise. The setting is a “very vertical city” and the team wanted to establish it clearly since that’s “based on the level design of the game.” The overall society of the universe was also teased – the created hybrids seem to have their own social system.
The overall message behind the trailer as per Ancel is “Whatever…your skin colour, origin, if you are a hybrid – whatever you are, you are part of the same team and you will share the adventure. That’s a very important message for us. And that’s exactly the heart of Beyond Good and Evil.”
Interestingly, in the scene where the treasure map is showcased, Ancel says, “If you look in the background, there is even a planet that is going to be destroyed by this magnetic field. [It’s] very powerful. And I don’t want to say [too much] about that now. I don’t want to spoil anything about the game.”
Beyond Good and Evil 2 doesn’t have a release date or gameplay reveal date set but we’re still stoked. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
