From Software’s Bloodborne has been a strong success in the UK, debuting just behind EA’s Battlefield: Hardline in the Gfk Chart-Track sales, and it’s now registered well in Japan. According to the latest Media Create charts, the PS4-exclusive action RPG sold 152,567 units in the first three days of its launch.
This was followed by Sword Art Online: Lost Song which sold 139,298 units on the PS Vita and 55,090 units on the PS3 in its first week. Bandai Namco also saw excellent luck with One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 – it sold 97,362 units on PS3, 54,308 units on the PS Vita and 46,693 units on the PS4.
Though the chart for this week was dominated by PlayStation titles, Theatrhythm Dragon Quest managed to stand out on the Nintendo 3DS. It sold 76,858 units in its first week.
For now, we’ll see how Bloodborne sells in Japan, especially given the popularity of the franchise, but it’s off to a terrific start thus far. Stay tuned for more.
