Critizising the style and calling it “samefaces” is an insult to the entire manga industry. You don’t need to have perfectly differentiated and modelled faces when you are animating or drawing a chapter per week, and less in an action videogame in which there’s hardly ever face closeups. Many manga styles have evolved towards practicality and focus in the storytelling, not the art, as they are often released weekly.

And calling it ‘juvenile’ because there’s generously bosomed ladies, unrealistically half-naked female warriors and other scantly clad dames is an insult to every single metal cover with a practically naked woman on it, and by extension, Luis Royo’s art and Metal itself.

You don’t badmouth Royo, and you don’t mess with Metal.
