Borderlands 2 Writer Leaves Gearbox to Work on Hulu Show

Anthony Burch is working with Freddie Wong, creator of Video Game High School.

Though work has already begun on the next iteration of Borderlands, Borderlands 2 writer Anthony Burch has revealed that he’s left Gearbox Software to work on a new Hulu comedy show with Video Game High School creator RocketJump Studios, namely Freddie Wong.

Burch did reveal on Twitter that will “do video games stuff on the side” and “there’s a not insignificant chance I’ll fall on my face and be back at Gearbox in six months sooo don’t be surprised if that happens.”

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is already out and Gearbox is working on bringing out Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, featuring remastered versions of Borderlands 2 and The Pre-Sequel, for PS4 and Xbox One. Studio CEO Randy Pitchford revealed that the developer is seeking talent to work on the next Borderlands so it’s coming sooner rather than later.

What are your thoughts on Burch not being a part of it for the time being? Let us know in the comments.
