I still prefer Fallout 3 to Borderlands, but I have to admit, the latter does grow on you. I am extremely appreciative of the graphic-novel style artwork in Borderlands which could almost be considered a tribute to Moebius (Jean Giraud) and "Heavy Metal" magazine. The vistas in Borderlands also reminds one of the long shots in the sci-fi film "The Fifth Element." Moebius and Jean-Claude Mézières collaborated on the film which came out in 1997. Borderlands, however, is still very much its own creation, and a work of keen imagination. I like it.

Not even close to Fallout 3. Only thing is that its got lots of brown and is a wasteland. Fallout was much more of an RPG while this is much more of a FPS. It's very good though. I was on the fence about it and bought it, i havent been able to put it down.

In reply to <a href="https://gamingbolt.com/borderlands-review#comment-1582">r4 cards</a>.

What you say is true, but they still could have given us more in the first game. Being that the entire story revolved around the vault the next game would most likely take place 200 years after the events of the original. That means that everything we know and love now will change. While it gives them a chance of making something better, it will most likely change some of what we already know and love.

The best thing about this game is the promise of more to come. Gearbox has done a great job creating a new IP that borrows from the best and creates something new.
