I get that. I read a lot from people who didn't want CoD to evolve the way it has. Although you never really "hear" it when you game online, maybe now and then. I think the reality is that most people want more to their gaming . Generally people with complaints are the most vocal, so you see more people saying they don't want futuristic CoD on forums, but that's just because people who approve have nothing to complain about. Wall running and boost jumping/sliding makes the game more fast pace and, for most people, more fun. I actually thought AW was a great change, and miss the forward mid-air boost, but all around BO3 is better. At the end of the day it's business and siding with the majority makes more money, and these guys got family to support. Family is more important than long time fan preference. Hopefully they will make a past CoD again one of these days, so that those who want it can have it, but whichever developer does this will be the developer to lose out on cash, unless they can find a way to make the games fast paced. At least this year there will also be Battlefield 1 with WWI setting so if that theme is what is important to you, then I hear BF is a great game save some consistent launch problems. Also the Modern Warfare remake is interesting, but I guarantee you, there will be more people on the Infinite Warfare servers than Modern Warfare. At first there will be people interested to check it out, but eventually it will only be those who liked the older setting, and all the rest of the players will be on Infinite Warfare. Maybe Activision is even hoping this remaster will show a lot of people that, despite their nostalgia, they don't really want CoD to digress back to its roots.

My issue with CoD is not the engine. Engine works fine. Visually the game looks good while running at 60fps. It's the sci-fi nonsense that bugs me. I want something like World At War 2. A game where I don't have jetpacks, running on walls, robots killing for me etc. THIS killed CoD for me, not the engine.
