Call of Duty is Getting a Board Game

Activision is teaming up with a bunch of companies to adapt Call of Duty into a tabletop experience, aptly titled Call of Duty: The Board Game.

Publisher Activision is teaming up with Arcane Wonders, Genuine Entertainment, and Evolution to announce a board game based on Call of Duty. Aptly titled Call of Duty: The Board Game, the tabletop game is slated to hit stores in 2024, with a Kickstarter to accept pre-orders in Fall 2023.

Call of Duty: The Board Game is slated to be a strategy game. Players will take on the role of elite soldiers, and will be able to fight each other in maps that have previously been featured throughout the Call of Duty franchise. The game will also feature components like miniatures of iconic characters and weapons from Call of Duty. Replayability will be handled by different scenarios and gameplay modes that will be available.

Game designer Bryan Pope revealed to Polygon that the gameplay in Call of Duty: The Board Game will feature players secretly planning their moves, which are then all resolved at the same time on the map. The game will feature coloured lines on the map to depict line of sight, and there will be an emphasis on strategy.

Call of Duty: The Board Game is slated to launch with a $50 price tag, and is slated to get additional content, like new characters, weapons, maps, and modes like Zombies and co-op campaigns, through expansions released later.
