nobody said the 360 is holding anything back. what theyre saying is that if IW made an exclusive to PS3 CoD game and took the time to learn how to use the power of the Cell and the blu-rays huge capacity like Naughty Dog and Guerilla have they would make a far better looking game then the last 3 CoDs. I think MW2 is an awesome game and has kept me up late fmany nights, but i still go back on Uncharted2 now and then just because the graphics still blow me away. however we all know that IW are xbox fanboys and always favour the 360 so an exclusive will never happen and therefor CoD titles will always suffer a little bit

not ALL ps3 owners are pissed. i bought mine with the intention to use every function it offers. i DO buy blu-rays, i DO use remote-play, i DO use my PlayTV box to record TV and movies for another day. however i WILL still say that being the more powerful machine, and having MW2 and Uncharted2, MW2 doesnt compare to it graphically, textures, animations, water and particle effects. MW2 just looks good at a glance but when you get up close to certain surfaces they look ugly. im not pissed off at all with my choice, at least i dont have to put batteries in my joypad like a kids toy. stop bein ignorant and atleast admit it when the rival console occasionaly does something better then yours. 360 mite be for hardcore gamers, but thats not what this thread is about, ts about Uncharted2 being superior to MW2 graphically……and it is

They didn’t build it themselves, He’s right it’s modified idtech3 engine. COD has always used the quake 3 engine. If you look up COD2 they still used the Quake 3 engine which Modern Warfare is built on. That’s why on the multiplayer menu of COD4 it says IW3, it’s the 3rd iteration of idtech 3. COD1 was straight up idtech 3, I even remember the .pk3 files. COD2 brought around changes because of DX9 and shader model 3.0, Infinity Ward still called it idtech 3. The only real reason they called it IW3 is because Modern Warfare was the 3rd game that iterated on the idtech 3 engine. There were no official IW1.0 and IW2.0 engines.

To summarize they went from Idtech 3 with COD to COD2 to IW3 with Modern Warfare, and revised IW3 into IW4 for Modern Warfare 2.
