Both consoles can reach 100million. It’s a question of what challenges they’ll face. As is, Xbox is a bit behind, but not unsuccessful. It’s still the best selling Xbox. PS4 has stumbled with the failure known as Slim and who knows how Sony’s finances will affect the company. The way it is, MS has an advantage in the sense that they can make more mistakes and not suffer for it. Sony has to play its cards very well, they can’t afford another screw up like Slim. Not to mention both will be facing Nintendo and what could be, though I’m not too hopeful, a powerful competitor in the NX.

The PS4 could possibly sell over 100 million but one thing that really drags down all consoles or gaming in general is toxic and misleading journalism.

The original Xbox had about 24 million sales in four years before Microsoft abandoned it by rushing out the Xbox 360 to stop the bleeding. The Xbox One has about 23 million in three years and it seems Microsoft is trying to replace it with the Scorpio.

I think they can reach 100m if they dont release the PS5 within the next few years. Alot of people jumped ship from Xbox this gen so it should outsell the PS3. I doubt it will beat the PS2 though as loads of people bought that not only as a game console but also as a cheap DVD player.
