Capcom's open beta for the action RPG will now end on February 17th, due to the PSN outage cutting down playtime for PS5 owners.

The recent PlayStation Network outage caused widespread frustration, especially for those on PS5 seeking to experience the second open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds. Though the first weekend is over, Capcom has confirmed that the second will be extended by 24 hours, starting on February 13th, 7 PM PT and ending on February 17th, 6:59 PM PT.

The second open beta features much of the same content as the first. Players can engage in a main story quest, hunt a Doshaguma in the wild or challenge Rey Dau. Some additions include battling Arkveld, a challenging endeavor, or taking on Gypceros in a new hunt. You can also venture to the Training Area to practice the various weapons.

Though it doesn’t include many improvements to performance and weapons, they’ll be ready when Monster Hunter Wilds launches on February 28th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out the dedicated benchmark tool here to see how your PC hardware matches up.

Those are some really cool names.

New Gundam Breaker, which is, in fact, the new Gundam Breaker game that will be launching soon, will be adding Gundam Avalanche Exia, Nightingale, Star Burning Gundam, and Atlas Gundam, the latest issue of Famitsu has revealed.

I’m not much of a Gundam fan, so I can’t say if that’s good or bad, or if fans are going to be excited about this (I’ll rely on your comments to tell me that), but I have to admit, the names sound pretty badass to me- Atlas Gundam? Avalanche Exia? It’s like at some point, someone decided to make their names sound so unnecessarily cool that nothing else would ever be able to pass muster next to them.

In addition to those Gundams, the issue of Weekly Famitsu also seems to suggest that Hashmal the giant enemy mobile armor and mobile weapons carrier Ptolemaios 2 will be included in the game. So… yay?

New Gundam Breaker launches on June 22 worldwide, exclusively for PC and PS4.

Director Cory Balrog talks about what humanity means for Kratos.

SIE Santa Monica’s God of War is out in the next few days but it’s already drawn strong critical reception from several publications. In a continuing series of videos that discuss development and the game itself, game director Cory Balrog speaks on Kratos’ evolution.

What happened to Kratos after God of War 3? Balrog notes that he spent most of his time wandering the Earth, staying away from people and the like. Eventually he settled down and had a son Atreus but Kratos still strives to redeem himself. Instead of making a heroic journey, Kratos will be looking to salvage what’s left of his humanity.

The key to this is Atreus, though whether he ultimately succeeds in bringing that humanity out of his father remains to be seen. God of War is out on April 20th, exclusively for PlayStation 4. You can check out our official review here to learn more about why it’s one of the best games this year.

Some tech tips for Metal Gear Survive.

While Metal Gear Survive may not be the game that many fans wanted, it still has something to offer on its own. However, the PC port of the game has some problems such as issues with the audio not working, encountering a black screen upon launching the game, and other such problems. If you’ve been facing any such problems with the game on your PC, then you might just be able to find a solution below.

First, the specs:

Please be advised that the following methods are to be used at the sole discretion of the system owner. GamingBolt or its staff members take no responsibility for problems that may arise or issues that may occur from trying the below. Always remember that official support is always the best support.

GENERAL FIXES

Generally speaking, some basic troubleshooting tips should always help you resolve whatever issue you are facing with the PC version of any game. If you are running into problems, maybe first attempt the following steps, and if they don’t work out, look into some of the more specific fixes we have below.

Make sure the drivers on your PC are updated

If you have two GPUs, make sure you are using the discrete GPU instead of the integrated one

Set Metal Gear Survive’s priority to High in the Task Manager

Turn off any background programs, including firewalls, chat clients, video recorders, and overlays

Try lowering visual settings on the game to see if that improves game performance

Make sure you have Windows updated before you attempt to play Meta Gear Survive.

SCREEN TEARING

Some players have experienced an issue where they experience screen tearing. Players have reported experiencing this issue even when V-synch is turned on in the game’s settings. Don’t worry though as this issue can be resolved quite easily.

Just open the Nvidia Control Panel, and then select”Manage 3D Settings.”

Now, select the game from the drop-down list of programs and set Vysync to “On.”

BLACK SCREEN ERROR

You might have encountered this error when launching the game. You may be able to hear the audio but are unable to see anything on the screen. This problem is usually caused when the game’s resolution is set higher than your monitor’s native resolution. To fix this, just press ‘ALT+ ENTER’ to bring the game to windowed mode and then just change the resolution in the game’s settings. This should resolve the issue for you.

AUDIO ISSUES

If you’ve been encountering problems with the audio in the game such as stuttering, then this method may help you. First, open up your playback devices. Once you do this, just select the audio device you’re using and select the “Advanced” tab.

Now you’ll find a menu here with various different options. Just try different ones until you find one that works well for you. This should fix the stuttering along with other audio issues.

XBOX CONTROLLER NOT WORKING

If you’re having this issue where your Xbox controller is not working with the game, then this method will help fix the issue for you.

First, ensure that Big Picture Mode and Steam in-game overlay are enabled.

Now, once the game is started, just press SHIFT+TAB to bring up the Steam overlay and click on “Controller Configuration.”

Next, click on Browse Configs and then select “Show other controller types.”

You should now be able to see the Xbox controller present here, so just click on it and it will work in the game.

GREEN SCREEN ERROR

If you’re experiencing a problem with the screen flickers or starts turning green, then this solution might work for you.

Open up the Nvidia control panel,

Navigate to “change resolution” under “Display”.

Click “Use Nvidia Color Setting” and select “Highest (32-Bit)”.

Note: Given that the wide range of PC hardware out there, the fixes mentioned here may or may not work for you. But it’s worth giving them a shot since these have worked for players who own the PC version of Metal Gear Survive.

A guide to help you access some of the new content in No Man's Sky: Atlas Rising.

Almost a year after launch, Hello Games have delivered the Atlas Rising update for No Man’s Sky, bringing it tantalizingly close to being the game that they promised to the world, the promise that made the entire industry fall in love with it. The new update brings a whole host of updates to the game- but the chief and primary additions here are the new story content, as well as the multiplayer, both of which had been promised to players originally, but which were missing in the game upon launch.

If you want to see what that story and multiplayer are like for yourself, if you want to access this new content for yourself, we’re here in this guide to tell you exactly how to do so.

STARTING THE NEW STORY

Build the Hyperdrive

Jump to different star systems

You will get the transmission unlocking the first Awakening mission

That’s it- you just need to travel a bit to unlock the mission.

MULTIPLAYER:

Players who are in the exact same spot will show up in each other’s game (as simulation ‘glitches’), up to 16 at a time, who can explore together

There is no form of communication allowed (though you can use VOIP as long as you are within a certain distance of each other)

You cannot affect terrain as long as you are in co-op

Bases and planets can be explored with friends.

Find the planetary portal to learn the mysterious language of portals, and share passcodes with friends and strangers

Persona 5 is almost here- but like many of you, I too am unwilling to fully believe that. What if it gets another last minute delay? The game has been delayed so many times, I almost refuse to believe it will be out when Atlus says it will be until I have it in my hands.

To allay our doubts somewhat, no doubt, Atlus has posted a brand new video, in which the special Take Your Heart edition of the game is unboxed, with all of the goodies within it being showcased. The Take Your Heart edition comes with loads of goodies- a soundtrack, a backpack, an artbook, and more. It’s truly worth getting- if you managed to get one at all, that is.

The Premium Steelbook edition of the game, that all standard purchases of the game will automatically be upgraded to, is also unboxed and shown off here. It will come with a steelbook, and a special DualShock 4 skin.

Persona 5 is due to launch on April 4 (at last) on PS3 and PS4 in North America and Japan.

Nicalis has revealed that The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ will no longer be launching alongside the Wii U. The expansion has been delayed to an unrevealed date and fans couldn’t be informed sooner “due to issues way beyond our control.”

The good news is that those who pick up the physical release can look forward to a reversible cover, limited edition sticker sheet and 20 page instruction manual along with the game.

Though Afterbirth+ is already available for PC, no information was given on whether the PS4 and Xbox One releases would still be out this Spring. We’ll have to wait for more information in the meantime.

The Nintendo Switch is out on March 3rd with launch titles that include The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, 1-2 Switch, Super Bomberman R, I Am Setsuna, Just Dance 2017, Little Inferno, World of Goo, Skylanders: Imaginators and Human Resource Machine. Will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments.

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg has announced that Xbox Fanfest, the one of a kind show that Microsoft holds through the year for fans at the various big game shows, will be returning for E3 this year, too. Greenberg did announce that there would be more specifics and details regarding this years’s that will be shared later in the coming weeks.

With Phil Spencer teasing big things for Microsoft’s E3 this year, and with the debut of the Xbox One Scorpio (which is due to launch later in the year) slated for later in the year, this is probably going to be one that most fans end up greatly enjoying attending. If you are an Xbox fan, definitely keep an eye out on when the tickets go on sale- usually they are hugely limited in quantities, so you’ll want to get yours as soon as possible.

As of right now, Microsoft is the only one of the three console manufacturers to have announced its E3 plans. Stay tuned for more information on E3 in the coming weeks.

'Microsoft have been pretty good with content.'

While news is currently being dominated by buzz and chatter about Nintendo’s newest system, this week was also the week that saw the cancellation of the long awaited Xbox One exclusive Scalebound, the action RPG led by the legendary Hideki Kamiya.

Scalebound‘s cancellation has precipitated a sort of chain reaction among all circles- fans are making an outcry about the lack of upcoming Xbox exclusives, insiders are reporting that apparently Microsoft aren’t even working on many games at the moment, and in general, it’s a bad look for Microsoft, coming on the heels of an extraordinarily good year for them.

According to Michael Pachter, analyst at Wedbush Securities, however, Microsoft will continue to support their systems, including the upcoming Scorpio, with first party games- and those, coupled with third party games, should ensure content. “Microsoft has had great first party. The Scalebound cancellation is unfortunate, but they launched Gears and Forza last fall, and they have been pretty good with content. I am sure we will see a lot of first and third party support for Scorpio,” he said to GamingBolt.

I hope he is right- I’d love for Microsoft to go all out, and release a spate of unique and desirable exclusives, much like they did for the original Xbox, or in the first half of the Xbox 360’s life.

That explains why they're making the new one!

In the wake of the announcement of a fourth Marvel vs Capcom game, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, as well as the port of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for current generation systems, Capcom have gone ahead and shared sales numbers for the entire series, which demonstrate just why Capcom are keeping the series alive, in spite of the licensing issues involved.

Capcom have confirmed that Marvel vs Capcom games have sold 7 million copies worldwide, which is an excellent number for a traditional fighting game series. Fighting games usually sell fairly low, unless they are Smash Bros. or Mortal Kombat, and Capcom are undoubtedly happy with the result- which would also explain them making a new one.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is slated for next year for Xbox One, PS4, and PC; meanwhile, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is available for PS4 right now, and it will be coming to Xbox One and PC early next year.
