Learn how to unlock Deadpool’s secret moveset and poses as well as earn an achievement/trophy for it with this guide for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Deadpool is one of the most popular cultural characters in the wider Marvel universe right now, and his inclusion in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls comes with a set of secret moves that make fourth-wall-breaking references to other games in the fighting genre. Unlocking these moves is also tied to a secret achievement/trophy.

This MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls guide lists the inputs for all of Deadpool’s secret moves across all relevant platforms. All directional moves are assuming that your character is facing right.

Healing Agura

Down, Down, Down, Down, Down, Heavy Attack and Unique Attack

PlayStation 5: Down, Down, Down, Down, Down + Circle + R1

Fever Dream

Down, Down-Right, Right, Medium Attack and Heavy Attack

PlayStation 5: Down, Down-Right, Right + Triangle + Circle

Deadpool’s Super Skill uniquely forms the basis for the remaining three variant secret Commands:

Fever Dream: Ranbu

Down, Down-Right, Right, Heavy Attack and Light Attack

PlayStation 5: Down, Down-Right, Right + Circle + Square

Directional input followed by simultaneously pressing the two attack buttons for Ryuuko Ranbu, which is primarily from the Art of Fighting series.

Fever Dream: Phoenix

Down, Down-Left, Left, Down-Left, Right, Medium Attack and Heavy Attack

PlayStation 5: Down, Down-Left, Left, Down-Left, Right + Triangle + Circle

Directional input followed by pressing attack buttons simultaneously for Kim’s Hoyaku from the King of Fighters games.

Fever Dream: Raging

Light Attack, Light Attack, Right, Medium Attack, Heavy Attack

PlayStation 5: Square, Square, Right, Triangle, Circle

Sequential pressing this combo leads to an homage to Akuma’s Raging Demon from Street Fighter.

How To Unlock The Secret Achievement/Trophy ‘Deadpool Saves the Tōkon Universe’

Pulling off each of these poses and moves will make the five secret ones visible in the Command List. Despite the base Fever Dream move not being a secret, it apparently needs to be performed at least one time in order to properly register for completion of the achievement/trophy, so do so if you experience a failure to unlock it.

You will also need to actually view Deadpool’s Command List after unlocking the fifth and final move, before the confirmation will appear.

Those are all the secret Commands you can unlock for Deadpool in order to earn the related achievement/trophy in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Here’s a guide on how to unlock The Champion, an additional playable character for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls current roster of twenty.

The character list for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been widely known for months, but there is a secret unlockable and playable character beyond the 20 in the initial roster. Unlocking this character is fairly easy, but will require some time for those of you that are impatient.

This is a quick guide to unlocking the secret 21st playable character known as The Champion, in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

How To Unlock The Champion Secret Character

Simply complete any single one of the Episodes, start to finish, in order to unlock The Champion. Despite the storylines being distinct, all paths eventually converge on a final confrontation with him.

The remaining storylines have some bearing on other unlocks including a color scheme and various achievements/trophies, in case you need some incentive to remain engaged with story mode as a whole.

While sitting through multiple chapters of even a single Episode may seem daunting, with all of their cutscenes and comics, you can simply skip the narrative devices in order to quicken the pace. It is entirely possible to speed through the entire process within less than an hour at most.

At the end you will first battle The Promoter, followed by multiple forms of The Champion himself with ever-escalating difficulty in power and moves. Defeating him will complete the unlock after the credits roll.

The Promoter cannot be unlocked as a playable character.

That is everything there is to know about unlocking the secret 21st playable character known as The Champion in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Learn how to get all the cosmetic unlocks for the 20 launch characters in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls using this guide.

Alternate Costumes and Color schemes are a staple of games in the fighting genre, and things are no different in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. The 21 characters have as many as nine palette swaps each which are unlocked under different criteria, and a handful of characters even have alternate costumes or outfits, each with their own color swaps.

This guide for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls lists the unlock methodology for every Color scheme, as well as the few full model changes available currently.

How To Unlock All Colors

All 21 characters have a set of simple palette swaps of their default Costume, numbered 1 through 9 in-game. The first four are unlocked by default for every character including The Champion.

How To Unlock Color 5

Access Episode Mode from the main menu and play through the entirety of the specific story for the team to which your preferred character belongs. The color will then unlock for all four members of that particular squad. Since the secret 21st character known as The Champion has no team, he does not get a Color 5 to choose.

How To Unlock Color 6

Merely completing 10 matches online as a Casual will unlock this color scheme for all 21 characters across the board. No specific character required, nor is winning a factor.

How To Unlock Color 7

A tougher unlock that is accomplished through the All-Star Arena’s Survival mode. You will need 100 KOs, with that hundredth opponent being The Champion himself.

Every four KOs leads to a mini-boss battle, after which you may draw a Soul Card and save.

The Soul Cards are a team-wide buff, and you may hold up to four distinct cards concurrently.

Duplicate draws of held cards simply buffs them further.

Defeat will end your run, forcing you to begin anew, with the counter reset to 0 KOs.

Saving allows you to avoid burnout in one long marathon session, but also affords you the opportunity to save-scum against defeat, by simply force-quitting the game and reloading your last save.

A full clear of a hundred opponents could potentially take anything between two to three hours depending on your skill level.

After trudging through that experience, Color 7 will thankfully be unlocked on a global level for all 21 characters, including The Champion himself.

How To Unlock Color 8

This might feel as tedious to complete as Color 7, if not more, though it does serve a legitimate purpose if you think about it. The Color is unlocked individually for each character you select, by forcing you to put them through their paces in the Character Lessons.

Perform the entirety of the checklist for the Action Checks.

Next, do all of the Combo Challenges. These trials are fairly demanding to accomplish, and the difficulty can spike based on the character involved.

Once both have been completed successfully, you will unlock Color 8 only for that particular character.

This also applies to The Champion, once you have unlocked him.

How To Unlock Color 9

Unfortunately, Color 9 is locked behind the purchase of the Ultimate Edition of the game, with absolutely no in-game method to access it for free otherwise. If you already own the standard or Digital Deluxe edition of the game, you can simply upgrade to the Ultimate Edition in order to automatically acquire this Color for the default Costumes of all 20 characters, excluding The Champion to whom Color 9 cannot be applied at all.

How To Unlock Alternate Outfits

Only 5 out of the 20 characters in the launch roster even have full alternate costume models. They are:

Spider-Man Advanced Suit 2.0

Storm Punk Rock

Iron Man Classic

Captain America Classic

Doctor Doom Supreme Ruler

Sadly, even just these five are also paywalled behind the Ultimate Edition of the game, with no alternate methods to unlock them. They each come with eight unique palette swaps, which are automatically available for use right from the start. Color 9 is not available to them in any way.

That is everything you need to know about unlocking every Color and Costume to be found at launch in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls.

Arc System Works' fighter is out now on PS5 and PC, and it's packed with systems to master. Here's what you should know to get started.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is finally here, and even if the PC version is a rigmarole-and-a-half right now, it’s proving to be extremely fun. The anime aesthetic and extensive single-player modes, including All-Star Arena and Episode Mode, will keep Marvel fans busy, and you can likely get by with the most rudimentary understanding of the mechanics and what the face buttons do.

However, if you’re looking to compete and excel online or delve deeper into the systems while slowly mastering each character – maybe to complete all those combo challenges – it can take some time. Fortunately, we have a few tips that should get you going and igniting the battlefield in no time, starting with the most obvious…

Find the Most Comfortable Fighter

This is fighting game 101, and it’s a no-brainer in Fighting Souls. Each character may have a basic combo you can pull off, but fully maximizing their potential means leaning into their Unique Skill and weaving their abilities into combos. And on that note: You don’t always have to lean into the meta. If Magik or Blade isn’t working for you but Spider-Man is, take the time to give the web-crawler a chance (especially with how balanced the majority of the roster is outside of the absolute top picks). Ease-of-use rating is one thing – find your comfort pick above all.

Learn the Match-ups

Marvel Tōkon is intriguing because its 4v4 format allows for focusing on a single character. After all, the entire team shares one Vital Gauge, so why not avoid tagging altogether? Besides missing out on combo extensions, a higher Skill Gauge, and more Assemble uses, you’re also kneecapping yourself. Not every character is ideal for every situation. So while mastering one character is ideal, you should branch out into other styles to counter any potential opponent.

Unlock More Teammates ASAP

Every match starts with two characters – one point and one assist. You’ll want to unlock the others ASAP for another reason beyond those stated above: It slightly increases the Vital Gauge. This may not seem like a lot, but it can be the difference between victory and defeat…or needing a few more hits to defeat an opponent if they have their full team.

How to Gain More Teammates (Besides Wall Breaking)

Speaking of which, you don’t need to wall break and initiate a stage transition to unlock a new teammate (though it’s encouraged for the potential wake-up on a recovering opponent). They can also join in on successful wall splats, where an opponent slams against the boundary of that section. You could also throw a round since that automatically adds an ally, though it’s meant to be more of a consolation than anything else.

Recoverable Health

Your Vital Gauge doesn’t just consist of the orange or blue health bar up top, or the red portion that’s consumed when a combo ends. There’s also recoverable health, aka the grey bar, which activates upon taking damage from skills and Super Skills, though there are other exceptions. As long as you don’t take any direct damage, it will slowly recover. Deadpool’s entire gimmick also revolves around this, so it’s best to get acquainted with grey health sooner or later.

Mix Up Link Combos

Link Combos are pretty easy to pull off – simply mash the Light, Medium or Heavy buttons in succession. Of course, that can get predictable, so you’ll want to start mixing things up by hitting Light into Medium into Heavy or some combination of the same (though there are some restrictions). And if that’s not enough, try using different directional inputs to catch an opponent low or with an overhead.

Easy Launches and Follow-ups

Mastering aerial combos will put you on the fast lane to success, but how do you even launch an opponent? Besides using an assist, press down and Heavy attack after a Light, Medium, and Heavy combo. Then hold the Medium attack button to automatically jump into the air and continue the combo.

When to Assemble

Assemble has such a wide variety of uses, whether it’s tagging to another character after their assist, or extending a combo from the same. You could also use Assemble Smash since that’s a great way to initiate wall breaks, not to mention the different counters which we’ll get into later. Just make sure to remember the different assists available and which corresponds to what direction.

Quick Skill Button

When starting, the Quick Skill Button will become your best friend, since it allows for initiating different skills without quarter circle inputs and whatnot. It can even be used to unleash Super Skills if you have enough Skill Gauge. As a means to quickly learn what each character’s skills have to offer, it’s a pretty good tool. However…

Learn the Inputs

You should learn the actual inputs for these skills for one simple reason: They’ll deal more damage than those unleashed by the Quick Skill button. It really is that straightforward and is just as important as unlocking your entire team, even if it can be tougher to nail.

Master the Counters (and the Counter-Counter)

We’ve talked about the Assemble Counter in the past and how it’s an incredible tool for counter-attacking against an enemy, especially given its long window. However, it’s important to note that you’ll be leaving yourself wide open if they don’t hit you in that time frame, exposing both you and a partner to heavy punishment. The same goes for a Crossover if the opponent uses a Reflect, but it’s much more fatal if they time it perfectly for a Perfect Reflect since this will disable Assembles for several seconds.

Unique Assists

Besides Aerial and Shooter Assists for their anti-air and ranged capabilities, you should get comfortable with each character’s Assault Assist. Initiated by pressing back and the Assist button, it activates their unique skill, which can have various benefits (like Doctor Doom’s laser keeping an opponent grounded). This is one area where experimentation is really required, so find the right one that fits your playstyle.

Tagging

If calling an assist and then swapping to them feels awkward, good news – there’s a dedicated button for raw-tagging. The problem is that doing so on the ground or even in mid-air will leave both characters vulnerable (though the recovery time for the latter is quicker). Always attack first and then tag, since you’ll get enough time to initiate a follow-up with the tagged character.

Play the Corner

Playing the corner is another core tenet of fighting games, and that’s especially the case here. Beyond bringing in more teammates, wall splats afford more opportunities to keep whaling on an opponent with little opportunity for them to fight back. Even if you leave them to fall, it can make for a strong wake-up, allowing for even more punishment.

Avoid Spamming the Same EX Attack Mid-Combo

Combo extension is surprisingly nuanced in Fighting Souls, as you’re encouraged to make use of aerials, EX Skills, Assembles, Super Skills, and more to keep things going. There’s just one caveat: Try not to use the same EX Skill twice in a row. If you do, the combo limit will max out (as shown by the bar beneath the number of hits turning red), thus ending it immediately. It’s not always a bad idea, especially if you want to follow up with an oki – just make sure that you’ve already planned for this.

Easily grind for all the Skill Points you need in order to completely unlock the Skill trees in Beast of Reincarnation using this guide.

In Beast of Reincarnation, the Skill trees for both Emma and Koo are quite deep and complex, especially as you progress farther up the trees, into their upper reaches. You will require hundreds of Skill Points in order to unlock and upgrade them all, not to mention the lower half of the trees, at their roots.

This guide for Beast of Reincarnation is all about farming Skill Points as quickly and efficiently as possible, with minimum effort.

Skill Point Farming Loop

The simplest way to farm for Skill Points is to make use of the Rest mechanic at a Campsite where a manageable number of low-level enemies can be found in close proximity. This allows you to exterminate them and then visit the Campsite to Rest, thereby instantly resetting the same mob for successive rounds. In the unlikely event that you actually sustain damage, it will be healed right up as well.

Each kill is worth a Skill Point, allowing you to rack them up quite easily just by repeatedly slaughtering the same mob spawn with minimal effort.

An excellent Campsite farm for Skill Points can be found in the Matsukawa Zone of the Mountainous Region, specifically the Ruins: Outskirts fast travel point. You can find a spawn of four rat/rodent enemies right near the Campsite, within firing distance. The best case scenario will have you killing them all and resetting them within twenty seconds, while earning you four Skill Points for the effort.

A very early Campsite farm for Skill Points is in the Ogouchi Buffer Zone of the Kanto Region, at the Upstream fast travel point. The enemies here are not as easy as the rats, and you yourself will not be quite leveled enough to make quick work of them.

You will need to tweak your build, whether Skills or Spirit Stones, in order to speed up kills on regular mobs. The ideal weapon you wield would be ranged rather than melee, so as to spare yourself the need to run around hacking away at enemies, and then back again to the Campsite. Be sure to make use of Enhance Equipment to buff your preferred choice of Weapons and Projectiles as well, for maximum damage output.

That is how to farm Skill Points as fast as possible in Beast of Reincarnation.

Learn how to reset both Emma and Koo’s attributes and skills and what else is required, with this guide for Beast of Reincarnation.

The Skill trees in Beast of Reincarnation for both Emma and Koo are fairly complex, with many branching paths leading to builds that can be effective against either regular enemies or bosses. In the event that you want to reset your Attributes and some of those Skills in order to test out alternative builds, there is a respec function in the game that allows you to partially recoup some points.

This guide for Beast of Reincarnation explains how and where to unlock respec, as well as its mechanics.

How To Unlock Respec

In order to access the respec function, you will need to progress the story almost all of the way through to the end of Chapter 2. Once you have rescued Mikoto and returned to the Cleanse Walker, you will unlock the Communicator as well.

You will now be able to use the Communicator to ring up Mikoto whenever you want, opening up the Reset Attributes menu, from where you can choose between either Emma or Koo individually.

How Respec Works

Refunding Attributes requires 100 Amber per point that has already been allocated, and will automatically reset some of the associated Skill Points as well. The catch is that the upper half or branches of the Skill tree are locked-in once allocated and cannot be recovered.

If your intention is to test out different builds, your best bet is simply to create a manual save after resetting your points, so that you can load right back into a sort of blank slate once you have completed your time with each experimental build.

Amassing enough Amber to respec will not be a problem by the early mid-game, and there is no apparent limit to the number of times you can respec.

That is everything there is to know about resetting Attribute and Skill Points in Beast of Reincarnation.

Between Malefacts, Golems, and Nushi, post-apocalyptic Japan can be rough. Here's how to survive and thrive with Emma and Koo.

Who knew a road trip across post-apocalyptic Japan where almost everything is trying to kill you could be so endearing? Game Freak’s Beast of Reincarnation offers more than just Sekiro-style parrying or extensive exploration, and it can take some time to wrap your head around the different systems. Fortunately, we have 15 tips and tricks that will make life on the road easier – absolutely spoiler-free. So without further ado, let’s dive into one of the most essential tips.

Revisit the Cleanse Walker Often

The Cleanse Walker is your home away from home. It won’t be available immediately, but progress far enough through the first Chapter and you can fast travel back to it. You should return whenever possible to talk to companions, raise Rapport (more on that shortly), and deposit anything in your backpack. It’s also great for selling Ancient Books and Golden Eggs, and for researching new recipes, skills, ingredients to grow, etc. And if you’re only keen on revisiting when a new companion cutscene is available, the camp sites littering the world will keep you notified.

How to Upgrade the Cleanse Walker

Occasionally, you’ll pick up Golem heads of different colors which don’t really do anything for Emma or Koo. They’re actually used to upgrade the Cleanse Walker’s facilities with each color corresponding to a different function. For example, Blue allows you to further upgrade melee and ranged weapons. It’s another excuse to return to the Cleanse Walker, but it’s downright essential for progression, especially if you can add a +1 upgrade to any weapon before a boss fight.

Collect Facility Modules

The same goes for Facility Modules. You can often find them on top of the dilapidated walkers littered throughout each region, and they’re uised increase the number of spots for rearing chickens or growing ingredients. Since Koo calls out their locations at every turn anyway, they’re worth going out of your way for.

Building Rapport With Koo

When petting Koo, taking a shower to rinse all the blood and dirt off, or feeding him regularly, you build Rapport. It may be enough to just see the giant fluff ball happy, but Rapport goes even further, increasing the number of skill slots. Just take care that he doesn’t fall in battle since that will reduce Rapport (though it won’t ever drop below the current rank).

Koo’s Equipment and Skill Slots

You’ll collect decayed charms throughout your journey, which can be refurbished back at a campsite. These can be equipped on Koo and include a primary stat increase, a minor benefit and a perk, like turning attacks into ranged blasts or causing hits to drench enemies. However, you can also equip other skills in those slots unlocked from building Rapport, like having him lay down landmines, taunt enemies, toss recovery potions, and more without explicit commands. Keep an eye out for destructive skills and whatnot, as they can be sold by merchants or obtained after defeating vicious Malefacts that roam the world.

Kagura’s Rapport

The other companion on your journey is Kagura, who prepares meals and tends to the garden and chicken farm back at the Cleanse Walker. The meals can provide temporary stat boosts, which are more potent the first time you eat them, but there are other reasons to build Rapport. She provides you with rations when setting out that fill the hunger bar for both Emma and Koo. When full, they’ll passively regenerate health. The higher the Rapport Rank, the more Rations provided, allowing you to save any ingredients found for future meals.

Researching Items and Recipes

Of course, Koo and Emma also have other purposes, namely research. Any recipe, destructive skill and whatnot acquired needs to be researched by them before it can be used. They’ll perform this automatically, but you can head back to the Cleanse Walker and manually assign them to certain research, depending on the need. Sadly, we never see Koo actually attempting to read through a manual. One for the post-launch roadmap, hopefully.

Full Bloom

Now let’s talk about combat. You already know that Koo wields Bloom Arts and each one has different benefits, like inflicting status effects, staggering shield-wielding enemies, binding foes, and so on. But what happens if Koo is full up on Fluorescence Points? The next Bloom Art will deal more damage, which may not seem all that great initially, but it also gains increased stagger. This is definitely worthwhile, especially when dealing with multiple enemies, and using Bloom Arts that can launch smaller enemies. Set them up with Koo and knock them down with Emma’s executions.

Elemental Interactions and Skill Combos

What happens to a drenched enemy when they’re hit by Shock damage? The same thing that happens to everything else. Some of Koo’s unlocks also benefit from certain interactions – like bestowing more Vigor to Emma when attacking a Shocked enemy or increasing Fortitude, leading to more defense, against burning enemies.

Bloom Art Mods

But it gets even better. Among Koo’s skill tree unlocks are mods that can be equipped to different Bloom Arts, such as restoring FP when using them on a burning enemy. You can also combo certain effects like binding foes and inflicting slow within that area – a double whammy of crowd control. Combining these in the early going can be tricky, but once you’ve unlocked more elemental ranged attacks and weapons, they can produce some interesting results.

Don’t Neglect Ranged Weapons

When the enemy has numbers, it’s time to pull out the rapid-fire crossbow. Beast of Reincarnation’s ranged weapons, especially the Zangetsu Bow, aren’t cheap to upgrade, but their benefits are undeniable. Want to inflict Corrosion or Burn from a distance, and combo with a Bloom Art? How about causing a single bolt to ricochet between multiple targets, thinning them out quickly while you focus on the main threat? Heck, you could even execute a Nushi Skill to create a grapple point and, while airborne, aim with a ranged weapon. This slows down the action, allowing you to pick off targets with little fear of retaliation (though it consumes the Entanglement Gauge). Best of all, the arrows and bolts refill automatically at campsites, so go wild.

Get Entanglement Gauge Upgrades Early

Speaking of the Entanglement Gauge, it’s the bar at the bottom center of the screen, used to execute Emma’s Nushi Skills. But the real beauty of it is Entanglement Overdrive, wherein everything slows down, and you can attack to your heart’s content. Or until the gauge runs out. So upgrade your Strength Attribute early on, spend Skill Points to unlock the node and then upgrade the number of segments on the gauge to make it last longer. With Spirit Stones and Koo’s mods making it all the easier to obtain Entanglement, you’ll want to abuse Overdrive whenever possible, especially when stacking status effects on enemies.

Also, as a side note: When facing Golem enemies, don’t just attack them immediately after activating Overdrive. Instead, circle and attack their backs for bonus damage. The yellow portion of the gauge refills automatically, so use it with the Blade Art: Shakuyaku to quickly close the distance and take down weaker enemies.

Split Some Helms

Life without Helm Splitter is…awkward, to say the least. All these grapple points and yet, Emma simply slashes in the air, sometimes overshooting a target. So after Overdrive, get Helm Splitter as soon as possible by leveling up Vitality. It allows Emma to slam down and deal damage in an area – perfect against crowds of enemies, especially when building stagger.

Pounce, Koo, Pounce!

Besides Koo’s list of Bloom Arts, you can also command him to pounce on an enemy with L2+R3 or LT+Right Stick. It’s not my go-to tactic against larger enemies – more Fluorescence Points to bring out some Bloom Arts that exploit weaknesses is more ideal – but this works wonders against smaller foes. You could even command Koo to pounce on one enemy while you deliver Death from Above.

How to Reset Attributes

Near the end of Chapter 2, you’ll receive a signal code from a character. Using it back at the Cleanse Walker lets you exchange pleasantries, but it also allows for resetting your Attributes and Skill Points. The process costs some Amber, but if you want to spec into a completely different build – maybe forgoing Vitality altogether for Strength and Fluorescence – it’s a great way to switch things up. The cost increases at higher levels, though, so keep that in mind.

Find every Skull in the game, and learn what they can do with this guide to unlocking Campaign Remix mode in Halo: Campaign Evolved.

Skulls were introduced to the Halo series in the second game, and make a return in Halo: Campaign Evolved with new additions and mechanics. With dozens scattered across each of the missions, you will have your work cut out for you.

This guide for Halo: Campaign Evolved lists the locations of every Skull to be found in the game, as well as their utility.

How To Unlock Campaign Remix Mode And Three Bonus Skulls

Campaign Remix mode lets you play previously completed missions again with a default set of three bonus Skulls turned on, as well as rolling for one of two modifiers to visibility. The latter are not Skulls, and can be turned off i.e. default effect, but cannot be turned on simultaneously as each other. Any additional Skulls you have acquired through gameplay can be selected as per your preference.

The bonus Skulls can be optionally turned on in regular Campaign mode.
You will automatically unlock Campaign Remix by simply collecting any three convenient Skulls you come across during gameplay, in no particular order:

The three bonus Skulls that then unlock right alongside Campaign Remix are:

Adaptation Skull: How To Randomize Enemies

If the squad composition and numbers of enemies you encounter on missions feels a little too stale and predictable, this Skull will completely randomize it every single time. You can potentially encounter enemies from any faction anywhere, including opposing forces, which means that if Armistice is on, they will all be focused on you rather than on each other.

Reload Skull: How To Randomize Weapon Pickups

Wield an assortment of weapons instead of the faction-locked world pickups you would normally expect on a playthrough. Just about anything is fair game, including weapons never seen previously in the original Halo, such as the Brute Spiker.

Armistice Skull

In Campaign Remix mode, the enemy randomization effect is balanced out by this Skull, in situations where two rival factions of enemies spawn together: Armistice prevents them from immediately engaging and killing each other, and instead they will turn their focus entirely to you.

If turned off in a normal Campaign playthrough however, this can create some interesting gun battles for you to take advantage of, as your opponents destroy themselves.

Speed Limit Skull: How To Disable Sprint

Disables sprint.

Mission: The Pillar Of Autumn

When tasked with meeting Captain Keyes on the Bridge, find this Skull lying on the ground right at the start of the mission by hopping up the large cylindrical vats and onto the walkway above.

Magnified Skull: How To Unlock The Original Halo MA5B Assault Rifle

60-round magazines for the AR are now standard-issue.

Mission: The Pillar Of Autumn

Continuing on, this Skull is atop the row of lockers you will pass on the way to the bridge during the assault on the ship.

Perspective Skull: How To Unlock The Third-Person Camera View

Changes the player camera to third-person.

Mission: The Pillar Of Autumn

While evacuating the Pillar of Autumn, right after the Cortana cutscene with Keyes, return to the bridge and descend underneath the pilot stations to find the mission’s final Skull.

Grunt Funeral Skull

Grunts die in a blaze of plasma.

Mission: Halo

On the objective to eliminate hostels and secure lifeboat crash sites, at the one farthest left of the start, find the Skull high up the sloped portion of the structure. Reaching it will require some platforming.

Give & Take Skull

Firing your weapon drains your shield, but dealing damage to enemies recharges it.

Mission: Halo

Proceeding along the mission, you will eventually pass through a stream with a large rock on its left bank. The Skull is in plain sight near it.

Floor Is Lava Skull

Take continuous damage whenever touching the “ground”.

Mission: Halo

At the lifeboat crash site that is situated in the rocky terrain, find the Skull atop one of the massive rock formations.

Iron Skull

Dying in co-op resets you to your last checkpoint, dying while solo restarts the level.

Mission: The Truth And Reconciliation

While boarding the Battle Cruiser, right at the point with the grav lift, ignore it and head for the edge of the area and peer over it for the Skull on a lower ledge.

Endurance Spec Skull: How To Make The Warthog And Scorpion Indestructible

UNSC vehicles cannot be damaged.

Mission: The Truth And Reconciliation

While attempting to locate the ship’s brig, in the chamber with the wrecked Wraiths, explore the other side of the room, where the curved columns are located. You will need to climb them using the container as a stepping stone, and then platform across to the column with the Skull atop it.

Foreign Skull

Players cannot use weapons from another faction.

Mission: The Truth And Reconciliation

On the objective to eliminate the threat, you will need to time the acquisition of this Skull as it is locked behind doors that spill out enemy forces and lock up again. These are the doors in the rear right of the hangar.

Bandana Skull: How To Unlock Infinite Ammo And Grendades

Infinite ammo and grenades.

Mission: The Silent Cartographer

While clearing the Landing Zone of hostiles, enter the cave topside to find the Skull just lying on the ground.

Acrophobia Skull: How To Unlock Flying Mode

The Corps: Now issue rifles AND wings.

Mission: The Silent Cartographer

While trying to locate the security system’s override substation, take down the pair of Hunters and then platform your way up the slopes of the structure there. The Skull is lying atop the platforms up there.

Hip Fire Skull: How To Disable Zoom

All weapon zoom functionality is disabled.

Mission: The Silent Cartographer

On your way to finding the Silent Cartographer, you will encounter another pair of Hunters and assorted forces to defeat. While descending further down, peer over the side of the path to see the Skull on a platform below.

IWHBYD Skull

It would have been your dialogue.

Mission: Assault On The Control Room

As you proceed through the substructure, you will be in the Scorpion tank at a bridge teeming with the enemy. Annihilate them, cross the bridge, and park the Scorpion on the left by the sloped snow. Platform up there using the Scorpion to find the Skull.

Angry Skull

Enemies fire their weapons faster and more frequently.

Mission: Assault On The Control Room

As you head for the Control Center Ziggurat, you will relinquish the Scorpion and eventually arrive at a trio of angular arches. The last one has the Skull lying atop it.

Cowbell Skull

Physics mass of objects is reduced, making them more easily displaced.

Mission: Assault On The Control Room

As you head for Halo’s Control Room, you will reach a bridge that you can drop down off of, and onto another structure running perpendicular to it. Inside a sort of channel in it, is the Skull.

Fog Skull: How To Disable The Motion Tracker

Motion Tracker is disabled.

Mission: 343 Guilty Spark

As you try to locate Captain Keyes, head upwards left of the ship wreck, and platform up the rocks by the tree to find the Skull on the ground there.

That’s Just… Wrong Skull

Enemies have increased awareness of the player.

Mission: 343 Guilty Spark

Continuing on, you will encounter a panicked marine that opens fire on you. You will have to eliminate him in order to acquire this Skull from his body.

They Come Back Skull

Flood Combat Forms reanimated by Infection Forms are much more dangerous.

Mission: 343 Guilty Spark

While leading the marines to the evac point, you will encounter wave upon wave of the Flood en route to the structure. Bear right instead of going to it, and into the growth until you reach a big fallen tree. Use it to reach the opposite end where the Skull is lying atop the rocks.

Tilt Skull

Enhances both positive and negative damage multipliers.

Mission: The Library

While taking the elevator into the lower chambers, you will come across drones engaging the Flood. Bear right and up the sloped section to reach the Skull up there.

Pop Skull

Shooting Flood in their weak point causes them to explode.

Mission: The Library

As you explore the Library, you will take the first elevator down to fight through the Flood wave. At the other end, find another sloped section to clamber up and then jump across to the tiny platform where the Skull is.

Famine Skull

Weapons dropped by enemies contain half the ammo.

Mission: The Library

In the final chamber after the final elevator ride, bear left after descending the ramp with the Flood infestation. The Skull is tucked away in a corner here.

Tough Luck Skull

Enemies always go berserk, constantly dive out of the way, and never run away from a fight.

Mission: Two Betrayals

While heading through the adjacent canyon toward the second pulse generator, take the Banshee but fly even higher than required to the very apex of the spire to find the Skull there.

Black Eye Skull

Your shields will only recharge when you melee enemies.

Mission: Two Betrayals

When tasked to destroy the conduits at each pulse generator, you will descend the elevator en route to the second one. Use the angular arches to access the other side where the Skull is located.

Mythic Skull

Enemies have increased health.

Mission: Two Betrayals

Carrying on, take the Banshee up to the generator and unlock the door with the control panel, but do not go through that door. Head inside the other door to contend with wave upon wave of infected enemies before finding the Skull suspended upon a pedestal at the end.

Catch Skull

Enemies throw and drop more grenades.

Mission: Keyes

This Skull is restricted to Heroic or Legendary difficulty, and is acquired while ascending the grav lift as you find a way to the ship’s bridge.

Blind Skull: How To Unlock Cinematic Mode Without A HUD

HUD and Weapons do not appear onscreen.

Mission: Keyes

Once aboard the ship you will have to get to the shuttle bay. Inside the hangar bay with the wrecked Wraith, descend to the lower level and into the rear area. Go past another Wraith and up a short slope to find the Skull.

Piñata Skull

Punching enemies makes them drop inert grenades.

Mission: Keyes

After finding and terminating Captain Keyes, beat his corpse just like a piñata to spawn this Skull.

Stowed Reload Skull

Weapons continue to reload while stowed.

Mission: The Maw

Tasked with getting to engineering via the cryo storage facility, you will be at the game’s starting location. Terminate all enemies and use the fallen walkway to hop up to the tiny platform on the wall where the Skull is in plain sight.

Boom Skull

Explosion radius is increased by 2x.

Mission: The Maw

As you attempt to expose the cores and destroy them with a grenade or rocket, you will be platforming some debris in order to ascend upwards. Look lower instead, and find a ledge with the Skull on it.

Thunderstorm Skull

Upgrades the rank of most enemies.

Mission: The Maw

As you escape from the Pillar of Autumn before it’s too late, right at the beginning of the Warthog dash you will see side tunnels that serve as shortcuts. You can skip the first one, but definitely take the second in order to find this Skull.

Successfully finding all 39 Skulls will earn you the achievement/trophy “Headhunter”, and is also required alongside every Terminal for the achievement/trophy “Collection’s Addition”.

How To Make Halo: Campaign Evolved More Like The Original Halo: Combat Evolved

The Halo: Campaign Evolved remake makes some major changes to mechanics in the interests of quality of life and simple gameplay evolution in the quarter century since the original Halo: Combat Evolved released.

If you are feeling a touch of nostalgia and want to replicate that original pace and feeling, just turn on the following Skull modifiers:
Speed Limit, to stop sprinting

Hip Fire, to disable smart-link ADS aiming for automatic weapons

Magnified, to unlock the classic Halo MA5B Assault Rifle ammo capacity and specs

Endurance Spec, to make the Warthog and the Scorpion tank indestructible, the way they used to be

There are also some other game settings to be changed through the menus such as restoring the position of the Motion Tracker, turning off hit and item markers, disabling visual effects like blur and shake, and enabling toggle to crouch.

Visual Modifiers

The two visibility modifiers are not Skulls, but can have a significant effect on your gameplay experience. They are also unlocked alongside Campaign Remix after acquiring those first three Skulls, but can be turned on and off at will. They are:

Nightvision

The world is bathed in a neon green effect which might come in handy in the traditionally dark portions of the game. Enemies will be outlined as well.

Spore Visibility

Every mission will feel like one that is infested with Flood spores through this filter, which also reduces visibility and draw distance drastically.

Those are all Skulls to be unlocked in Halo: Campaign Evolved as well as what they can modify in your playthrough.
