Square Enix continues to improve the Steam version of the famous RPG.
Square Enix continues to improve the PC version of Chrono Trigger after intense fan backlash at release. The newest update has been released and this time, a new user interface for battles has been added to mimic the look and feel of the original game.
It’s possible to change between the controller/keyboard UI and the UI optimized for mouse and touch panels in case you prefer the old scheme better. Pausing the game during battles is also possible now.
Other changes help improve the overall presentation of the game. Playable characters on the world map are more like the original version of the game, animated cutscene resolution has been improved and the display area for cutscenes has been increased. Instances of the game slowing down during certain scenes has also been improved along with other bug fixes.
Square Enix has currently planned another update to tweak the user interface outside of battles. It will be out by early June so stay tuned for more updates.
