Also, PC gamers gain from a huge “previous season games” market, where still very good newly manufactured games sell for $5-$10. I love that aspect of PC gaming, as you can buy a game just for testing if you like it, and give it away if not.

A good gaming PC is much more expensive than a console of any kind, and consoles no doubt work with HD TVs. That said, the effective resolution might not be 1920 by 1080 nor with the same level of details (e.g. in mipmaps, anti-aliasing etc) as on a top-notch PC.

I’m a PC gamer and I don’t have a console, so I can’t do any fair comparison, but I sense different markets and different pros and cons. RTSs are still PC territory for the most part. Arguably also RPGs are more popular on PCs, even with Skyrim coming up for consoles etc. Pure action and sports games I guess are played much more on consoles.
