In reply to kma99. Microsoft's cross-play servers are separate from Fortnite's servers. If Fortnite has it's own servers and can be switched to allow cross-play then why does any game need Microsoft's cross-play servers?

Microsoft’s cross-play is runned and controlled by Microsoft only and Sony has no say in it’s security or distribution of consumer information,content,servers or advertisement revenue from streaming. Sony has an obligation to its customers to protect its user information and they cannot do that when Microsoft holds all the cards. PlayStation owners accepted a contract from Sony to protect their interests and their personal information and will not be guaranteed that protection if Sony is blocked by Microsoft’s policies.Microsoft is only willing to negotiate for cross-play as long as they profit from it.
