Paradox Interactive has been talking quite a bit about its design philosophy for Crusader Kings 3. In a recent story trailer, however, it offered something else in its latest story trailer – a release date. The grand strategy game arrives on September 1st for PC players and is currently available to pre-order.
But that’s not all – you can see how the map and character models look in-game via a new teaser. It showcases the shift away from 2D portraits to fully rendered models and looks pretty good. You’ll still run through the Middle Ages and aim to usurp the land like in previous games so don’t worry.
Some new changes in Crusader Kings 3 include Renown for controlling one’s house. The genetics system allows for passing on traits from one character to their children and you can even invoke Dread to frighten vassals into submission (usually by being sadistic or blood-thirsty). Stay tuned for more details en route to the game’s launch especially with Paradox Interactive attending the Guerrilla Collective in June.
