Yeah… Crysis 1 has better and more precise graphic, but it runs on DX 10… Crysis 2 uses only DX 9 which reduces the amount of effects, details and physics… Crytek promised to do a DX 11 compatible patch, which personally i’m really looking forward to 😉

Crysis is much much more superior, in graphics, gameplay, destructible environment, storyline, etc..
Ask me man, i’ve completed Crysis like 7 times, i was extremely addicted to it. Crysis 2 is a console piece of shit. Its like Call Of Duty with a fucking nano suit on top of it. Soldiers, Tanks are copied from Halo….so fucking disgusting Can’t believe Crytek stooped so low….it’s not the real Crysis anymore!

How can people compare these two games, crysis is on a big island so its mostly dirt and grass, crysis 2 is in new york so its alot more difference in the textures..

And yes crysis (1) has abit better graphics but that is becouse its almost the same textures averywhere..

Crysis 2 cannot be destructable becouse there are only skyscrapers everywhere so it would need crazy physics..

Crysis (1) only have small wood shacks so its realy easy to make those destrucable..

All in all:
Crysis 1 is a more simple world but better graphics.
Crysis 2 has a nicer world runs smother but worse graphics..

Crysis 2 is a cool game but it really takes a crap on the old open world design associated with the whole Crytek style. It’s disappointing to say the least. The gameplay feels a lot less interactive, there are parts where I try to avoid or flank the AI and I’m blocked by noclip wall of null .. depressing to see how PC (the true original champion of video gaming) gets totally thrown in the garbage to appease the drooling console masses.

Oh yea, hold on let me put a silencer on my shotgun .. haha come on.

Crysis 1 looks much better than Crysis 2. I don’t know what you setting you used for these screenshots (Crysis 1) but I’m pretty sure they’re not on ‘very high’. If you had there wouldn’t be much of a comparison. I have both Crysis 1 and 2 and I can tell the difference. The textures on Crysis 1 are much higher, better lightning, way better physics, much more destructibility, the water looks better, bigger maps. Basicly everything is better.

The reviewer paired 16 gb of RAM with an useless 5670…that can’t even run Crysis 1 on high at 1080p, let alone very high or ultra with gfx mods.

After playing Crysis 2 for probably 20 hours (most of it on the leak… oops, I did pre order the game before that). I have to say that Crysis 1 looked better. Crysis 2 may have fancier lighting but some of the low res objects are inexcusable. Crysis 1 also features better interactivity, in what other game could you shoot a tree in half, punch it into small sections and then beat people with your new clubs??? That was awesome.

I do have to say, however, that Crysis 2 is a far superior game, you may not have as much room to run around in, but the height and scale of some of the battles are legendary. At one point you could be a few stories up then jumps DOWN TO A ROOF TOP, snipe, go to ground level, go into the sewers and then into a giant crater that can be several layers down in the same fight. All with AI chasing you all over the place, its pretty awesome. And the HUD is much better, much much better.

So to recap, graphics are not as good, but I will let that slide because they are still amazing and the game is far superior to the first, in fact it is superior to most games out there.

Cheers Crytek, you guys made one heck of a game!

it looks like ps3 and pc are going toe-to-toe graphics wise, but the pc boasts a sharper look. sigh, you’ll get there someday, ps3. …you, too xbox.

Graphics seem slightly better. Do like the new design of the SCAR though but not so much of the HUD

mmm, I kind of like the 2 more. Thats my opinion. And with addition of hanz zimmer music, it should live up to expectations.
