Demeo Developer is Working on a New Dungeons and Dragons VR Game

Developer Resolution Games is teaming up with Wizards of the Coast to make the first official Dungeons and Dragons VR title.

Resolution Games, known for its work on the VR board game Demeo, has announced a partnership with Wizards of the Coast to develop a VR title based on Dungeons and Dragons. Not too many details about the game have been revealed aside from the fact that it will be the first official Dungeons and Dragons VR game.

Demeo itself was quite heavily influenced by Dungeons and Dragons, and the game might provide a good insight as to what kind of game we can expect the next title to be. Demeo is a turn-based tabletop-themed game with an emphasis on cooperative multiplayer.

The game embraces its tabletop and Dungeons and Dragons roots with its aesthetics, which has players controlling actual miniatures across dungeons created on a tabletop, all while dice are being rolled, and cards are being played. Even the artwork for Demeo‘s various campaigns are a throwback to classic adventures and modules released for older versions of Dungeons and Dragons.

Currently, Resolution Games hasn’t revealed any screenshots, trailers, or other details about the Dungeons and Dragons VR title, and it doesn’t even have a release window at the moment. If you can’t wait to experience a digital version of Dungeons and Dragons, however, you might want to check out Baldur’s Gate 3 in the meantime.
