DeNA Wants To Make More Than $25 Million A Month With Nintendo’s Mobile Games

That's a lot of pressure.

Nintendo is finally going mobile. With the announcement earlier this year that the company will finally start making games for smartphones and tablets (which will all be separate from the games that it makes for its own hardware), all eyes are on Nintendo, to see exactly how successful the world’s best and most successful developer is in the mobile landscape.

Their partner in this brave new alliance is DeNA, and DeNA, it seems, is expecting a lot from Nintendo’s games. As in, over $25 million made every month, a lot. “We haven’t talked to Nintendo about targets, but at DeNA, our best-selling game brought in 3 billion yen a month (about $25 million), and we want to surpass that,” they said in an interview with Reuters. With Nintendo’s games, they are looking at hitting at least that.

Of course, Nintendo can do it- even on hardware such as Wii U, its games put up crazy numbers, and with a potential audience of a billion, there is no telling just how much they will manage to sell. Let us just hope they don’t forget the traditional audience while they chase the mobile profits.
