Destiny Average Play Sessions at Three Hours, 137 Million Hours of Activities Logged

Destiny's engagement levels "on par" with Call of Duty.

Bungie’s Destiny is a massive success for Activision and even if the critical reception is nothing to shout about (though it’s far from horrible), fans are enjoying all the content that’s on offer. Community manager David “DeeJ” Dague recently revealed that players have put in 100 million hours within the first week with 137 million hours put into activities.

Dague also confirmed that the average play session on weekdays is three hours while it’s four hours on the weekends. That’s a whole lot of Destiny.

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg stated that, “Destiny fans played more than 100 million hours of the game in the first week. That’s on par with the engagement levels of our most popular Call of Duty games, which obviously is an industry leader.”

That’s not mincing words at all considering the blockbuster success of the Call of Duty franchise. We’ll see how Destiny fares when Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is out though.
