Bungie gameplay designer Josh Hamrick, who’s been with the company for six years and worked on Halo: Reach and Destiny, will be leaving in a week. Hamrick tweeted his announcement last night.
“Next Friday, after nearly 6 amazing years and w/ REACH & Destiny on the shelf, I say goodbye to my @Bungie family… A new adventure awaits!”
Hamrick further confirmed that, “Bethesda! It’s Bethesda! I’m going to @BethesdaStudios and I’m super stoked about it!! I hope you’ll continue to follow along with me!”
It’s interesting to see how this bodes for the future of Destiny (though Luke Smith is still very much at the helm) but more interestingly, we can’t wait to see how this works for Bethesda which has Fallout 4 (allegedly) in the works.
Speaking of Fallout 4, the timing of Hamrick’s announcement is quite impeccable, especially considering Bethesda will be holding its first E3 conference this year. Maybe it really is on the way. We’ll find out in June so stay tuned.
