Raids never were intended to be played solo. If your armor and weapons "aren't good enough", then you're doing something wrong, or aren't leveling up the best equipment you have. Max out your vanguard points each week, and soon you can buy armor to get to 30, and a decent weapon or three. There are more ways than just fighting with the RNG to get decent equipment, and most equipment that drops is fairly randomized. You're better off, nine times out of ten, buying an item off a vendor, because you're /guaranteed/ to get the perks you want /somewhere/, or (like what happened a few times in my case) find out that an item has better perks than you were looking for.

Destiny at its core is a well made fun game. Shooting feels like, combat is interesting etc. The issue is corporate nonsense has ruined the game in order to artificially keep people playing. They dangle the carrot just in front of your face and people like a sense of earning something.

The issue is the way they built the grind sucks. I've got like 80 hours into my now abandoned character with almost nothing to show for it. I'm not a fan of mulitplayer which is the easiest way to earn gear and rank up. Its either play mp or grind for 200 hours and I'm just not willing to do that.

It also doesn't help that the game feels like it was chopped into 3 pieces and released as dlc. This first expansion is absurdly small as well which just lends more credence to that theory. I beat all the content minus the raid all by myself in an hour. that's insane. I've also never played a raid because my armor isn't good enough nor are my guns and after 80+ hours of play if I still can't do the raids...well I quit.
