I'm not a fanboy I just prefer actual facts. When Asteroids (1979) and PacMan (1980) was created not even 30fps was possible except in movies or TV. A CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) TV couldn't possibly refresh the screen fast enough without a lot of flickering or screen tearing so it was a moot point. You're also talking about 16-bit console systems produced more than 10 years after those video arcade games AND they would be competing with 64-bit game console or PC systems NOW that have trouble producing YOUR artificial standard of 1080p/60fps. It certainly wasn't a standard 35 years ago. Were you even alive back then? PS: I verified my facts by doing less than 10 minutes of research using the Google search engine.

Yes it is and it hurts for you console fanboys. 60FPS is the standard. 30FPS is a joke.

So basically you have no argument for 30FPS and are resorting to insults. Typical console fanboys.

The only reason 30FPS is still in use is because Games are being held back by behind the curve hardware standards consoles. 60FPS was an arcade standard as far back as Asteroids. 60FPS was a standard on the SNES and Genesis. 30FPS is a joke

yeah Halo needs 60fps really, some other games need to take note *cough* Destiny* *cough*

I think it will still be a good looking game at 60fps but of course the sony trash will be jumping all over it. I dont personally like Halo but at least one dev is forgoing 30fps cinematic BS just to pump up the visuals, for actual gameplay :D therefore MS wins the year Halo comes out, might be delayed never know

It is an artificial standard for a certain sub-genre of games and no more. I have no problem with most video game reaction times or controls. What arcade games are you referring to? Those games in an actual video game arcade like the original Asteroids or PacMan? It certainly wasn't even 30fps. Of course if games are so bad that they can't meet the standard then by all means don't buy the games.

Lol! Look I'm an Xbox gamer, and I just "deal" with the 30fps stuff mostly. Thing is, most studios want to sell their game, so making it pretty is the default strategy. But, how can people damage control 30 over 60fps? U know what, if their system was bangin out 60 90% of the time, I bet we wouldn't be seeing people damage control, period. Anyway, I'm super happy Halo's gonna be 60fps. Such a darn risky yet great move by 343 imo. Could care less if it's sub 1080 res. Halo sells huge because of the GAMEPLAY!
