On paper the PS3 will be 2 times more powerful then the Xbox 360. Its just like when the PS2 game out, peploe were also camping outside for it. If you think $ 600 is expensive, just look on Ebay. They range from $ 1200-$ 1500.The PS3 is expensive for many reasons. The main reason its so expensive is becouse it has a built in blue ray player. A blue ray play usuall runs anywere between $ 800-1500 dollars. It also contains a built in harddrive which can hold 60 gig. The video card is two times more powerful then even the most powerful card for the PC. The componments in this system aren’t cheap.

playstation 3 will offer the most complete ganimeg catalogue. it has the biggest backers in gaming, the best hardware out there, and for people like me that would rather have the wii only because of the titles and loyalty to nintendo, we secretly wish nintendo had all the fuctions of the playstation. if you have 599 and want to own it and have the newest best games, then get the playstation. computers still out perform these systems, but they cannot manipulate the gaming engine unless they are really high end. playstation with revolutionize gaming and we will see some amazing stuff for the next 2 years, or however fast they can pump another one out.

Originally mosty fps’s were ported from pc to console but if youve ever played Unreal Tournament on the PS2 you would see why they stopped (5fps anyone?)

Bingo! If BF3 was written for x-bot/pos3 it would have never been made. The limitations of the consoles would make destructible environments seem pretty bah and frostbite would not exist. What would be the point in it if all they did was make COD again? If all you do as a developer is write games for 2005 you don’t stay in business long.

How on earth did you get the idea that a PC cannot be easily plugged into a television? You simply use an HDMI cable. Do you know what HDMI cable is? When you consider the most Console games can’t even display as a full HD television’s native 1080p resolution, PCs are in fact better suited than consoles for this.

In regards to DICE holding back the console versions, why on earth do Battlefield 3’s console graphics hold so much promise? There is no way in hell they could make the console version look as good as the PC’s. What DICE has done is use the full capabilities of all three platforms.
