Don’t Expect Nintendo NX In 2016 – Industry Analyst

Pachter is basing his predictions on previous Nintendo behavior.

Michael Pachter has become one of the leading voices when it comes to trying to figure out just what to expect from the Nintendo NX when talking about how well the next generation console will do and what sorts of strategies Nintendo should use in order to make it a success. Now the industry analyst is warning people who are getting excited about buying the next Nintendo device that they should slow their roll.

On his latest Pachter Factor podcast, the industry analyst warned gamers they shouldn’t expect the Nintendo NX to launch in 2016. As has been the case with most of his predictions, Pachter made it clear he doesn’t have any inside knowledge but he went off of past Nintendo practices in order to predict when we’ll finally be able to get our hands on the device.

In the past, the company has announced their next-gen piece of hardware at E3 and released them 18 months later. Therefore, if you were hoping that you’d see the NX platform sometime in 2016, such as the Holiday season, Pachter thinks you shouldn’t get your hopes up. On the other hand, there are a number of rumors saying that developers already have dev-kits in their hot little hands. Pachter believes if these rumors are true, it’s entirely possible Nintendo is stepping up its game. The company moving a bit faster to get its next console out there makes sense when you take into account the firm is already losing ground to the PS4 and Xbox One. Maybe we will see the Nintendo NX in 2016.
