Besides it’s a fact that the Xbox One is selling, it’s also a fact the Xbox One S is well received and bought by many, and it’s being supported by the industry. So no matter how much you cry, you spin, and try to pass your opinion as a fact the Xbox isn’t going anywhere let alone Microsoft.

Whew, that was a good read. Heres the deal. As of right now, Scorpio doesn’t exist to you. It has no announced release date, there is no video of it in operation, its all propaganda to keep you people that follow technology news from bleeding more money into Sony’s gaming platform. Its a virtual patch to fix a very big leak in Xbox platforms strategy. It won’t help the masses of people make a purchasing decision this holiday season, who don’t keep up with technology news like you do. It will arrive far too late for most middle income families to care about how powerful it is. Those people will be increasingly invested in VR gaming on Sony’s more popular platform. My heart goes out to you guys who keep this fantasy of a better Xbox console going. But not really. I’m just trying to be sensitive to your pain, but just this once.

Funny thing. You sure are trying hard to keep me from sharing my indifference about that piece of plastic you love so much. Whether, You’re black or white, or purple, I find that behavior to be “weird”. Sound familiar? I also have a favorite and for obvious reasons, I REFUSE to buy the other platform. But I won’t try to censor you from sharing your negative opinion about the platform that I love. Can you see the difference between you and me now, black man?

Yes, I do play on Xbox One more, because I like the ecosystem, that’s where my friends gravitated and I happen to like Forza and Halo, but I also apportion time to PS4 and think, for instance, that (as I already stated above) Drive Club is the most realistic racer out there, that Naughty Dog’s games are unique killer apps, and will happily express how much I admire the adventurousness of Sony in backing games like Journey. Having a preference doesn’t amount to complete bias, you see. I prefer Pepsi, but I still really like a swig or ten of Coke. Heck, I even benefit financially from Sony doing well, thanks to investments in VR patents the musicians’ cooperative I belong to made back in the ’90s. After two decades they’re finally paying off, thanks in part to Sony VR, so cheers PS4 and long may you prosper.

For the record, the S has outsold PS4 two months straight in many markets (look it up; facts can’t lie) and there is a palpable change of the anti Xbox bias on the internet, probably due to the several missteps Sony has made lately (game delays, PS Plus price increase, No Man’s Sky underdelivering et al) and the clear water seen between the specs of the Pro and Scorpio. Add to the latter the fact that both PS4 and XB1 were underpowered on launch – yes, the XB1 more so – and four years on, when Scorpio will be launched, the market will surely be ready for more of a powerhouse to enliven it as well as serve the burgeoning 4K market. Many online and print commentators seem to be taking this line, which is maybe what is getting your overly partisan goat.

I’ll finish by reiterating my point that competition is good for the industry, and wonder aloud whether Sony has been made complacent by its early lead and needs the kick up the backside that Scorpio will give it.
