Different hardware fragmentation is also the #1 reason why DX12 is going to be best.  DX12 improves low end machine to work on higher demanding games easier.  That mess your talking about gets cleaned up with DX12, and with it the need to focus on consoles is less needed.

And also, for $50 the video card is replaced, for $50 more 2GB ram is put in place. Most computer need only $100 to out perform the PS4. You need to hit up with $250+ for a new console, no upgrading with a console at all. 
If I have allot of money I can drop $500 extra on my pc and get a high end rig that runs circles around both consoles combined and then doubled.  PC just has that option. Consoles have no options, they are limited by their hardware and held back for years until they release another model, which everyone needs to buy again without much choice. 
If my computer old and holds back, I can drop another $100 it&#039;s back ahead of the rest again. 
My PC was built in 2009, still more powerful than the PS4 by allot.  A six year system still better than a console kid.]]></description>
