Just when we thought the controversies related to Battlefield 4 were ending, and we were getting ready to move on to Battlefield Hardline, and an entire new set of controversies, a Battlefield 3 (yes, you read that right) controversy, a very old one, has reared its head. You see, way back when this game was first released, people alleged that they had been incorrectly banned from playing the game online (so basically the only worthwhile part of the package) by EA’s Anti Cheat software. Today, EA admitted to incorrectly banning Battlefield 3 players.
“We are investigating an issue of Punkbuster bans that were incorrectly applied to some of our players,” their statement read. “Please understand that our game advisors are not able to access or overturn Punkbuster bans, but we’re working with our partners at Even Balance to get this resolved as quickly as possible.”
Gosh EA, with so much goodwill accumulated around the Battlefield brand, I am sure Battlefield Hardline will do great.
