Of course they will be. Xgimp scum like Starman are still trying to shill it even after MS’ 2013 debacle which means he’s duty-bound to do so but the fact is it’s going to remain a significant format for many years to come.

Yeah and when every country decides to cut off the Internet to control their citizens like North Korea does I’ll be laughing at you while I’m playing my disc games.

Also,Sony with Panasonic did develop a 300g disc but it’s only for mass media data collection. I personally think that there should be a larger capacity disc for gaming as it would make console development cheaper.

And finally,no 70 % of gamers aren’t buying just the games on digital.That 74% (the actual percentage) includes more than game sales,it is a lump percentage of games,subscriptions,DLC,mobile and social. Physical media is here to stay.

It’s more cash for them that way …. like Sony was trying to develop a 300 gb disc … give me a fkn break 70% of the gamer’s are buying digital … once they lower the price where it should be , disc will completely die……
