EA Is Investing A Lot In Creating New IPs; Working On Bringing Multiple IPs To All Platforms

There are some exciting new games the publisher is working on, and more details will be provided later in the year.

It looks like Electronic Arts has been hard at work getting their studios to bring out new IPs, and during their financial conference call for investors and analysts, the publisher promised that they are working on multiple new IPs for all platforms.

Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson revealed that both Motive and Respawn are working on new IPs. He stated, “In addition to amazing games coming this year like Battlefield V, Anthem, our latest EA Sports titles and Command and Conquer Rivals, we have new IP in development for all platforms. Across EA worldwide studios, Respawn is developing Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for FY 20 (between April 2019 and March 2020), with another new project in the pipeline. Motive is developing new IP, our mobile studios are working on several new titles, and we have more projects underway. At the foundation of every experience will be choice, fairness, value, and fun, that ensure we’re delivering for our broad and diverse player audience.”

Additionally, Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgenson also stated that the publisher invests a major portion of their money on new IPs by building new studios and hiring new developers. He also mentioned that there will be some exciting new upcoming games which they will reveal more information about later in the year.

Wilson also went on to emphasize the use and value of a subscription service as more and more content is being delivered to gamers. EA is also investing in areas such as machine learning, cloud gaming, and AI, as these things could significantly alter the gaming landscape as we know  it.
