Apparently convinced that its EA Play event last year was quite successful, the company announced on Thursday that it was once again going to skip E3 and hold its own event instead this summer. Last year, the company announced several new games and initiatives such as EA Originals. Now we know when we will need to pay close attention to see what will be announced this year.
In addition to confirming EA Play for a third straight year, the company announced where it will be holding the event this year. Unlike in years past, Electronic Arts will be showing off its wares across town at the Hollywood Palladium.
The 2017 EA Play will be taking place from June 10 to June 12. The good news for gaming journalists and the gaming public is this means EA won’t be directly competing with E3 for attention. The massive gaming conference will be kicking off one day after EA Play ends on June 13 and will run through June 15.
