EA has long had Milestone Interactive as its official distribution partner in India, but that may be about to change soon. According to IndianVideoGamer, it appears as though EA is growing tired of Milestone, who, thanks to their numerous issues, have failed to facilitate proper distribution of video games in the country.
EA games have gotten increasingly hard to find in India of late; Milestone has been going through a lot of troubles, which have led to their being unable to meet the demand for retail EA games in the country. Milestone’s own problems are of course, well documented- for instance, the company has had to close most of its Game4u retail stores throughout the country.
Losing EA’s contract would be a crippling blow for Milestone- especially given just how strong EA’s slate of upcoming games is for the next year or so. With games such as Battlefront, Mass Effect Andromeda, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, and of course, the FIFA games, which remain the top sellers in the region, Milestone could have seen an infusion of cash. The loss of EA’s contract, as reported, would be a setback.
