Motive Studios might be one of EA’s younger studios, but they’ve established themselves as quite a talented developer, starting with the single player campaign of Star Wars Battlefront 2, and then moving on to Star Wars: Squadrons. We know that the developer is currently working on several unannounced projects, and we might now have a bit of an idea about what one of those could be.

Speaking recently during the GamesBeat Decides podcast, journalist Jeff Grubb said in response to a question about what the studio is working on next, that though he doesn’t want to reveal that, it’s something that fans will be quite happy about, before adding that it’s based on an established IP.

There’s any number of games that could fit that description, and EA does have plenty of properties that fans would love to see making a comeback, from Dead Space and Dante’s Inferno to Mirror’s Edge and Jade Empire. EA is, of course, currently also working on several unannounced Star Wars projects, and perhaps one of those is in the works at Motive.
