EA announced in September last year that Motive Studio of Star Wars Squadrons and Dead Space fame was working on an Iron Man game, and the confirmation that it would be a single player third person action-adventure title brought with it plenty of excitement with it.
Concrete details on the game, however, have been sparse at best, though it seems a key new tidbit may have come to light courtesy of a job ad. Stephen Rhodes, narrative director at Motive Studio, recently took to Twitter to share a job ad for the position of senior writer on the Iron Man game, which seems to suggest that the title will be an open world experience. Specifically, under its qualifications section, the job ad mentions that the applicant should have “experience in open world and non-linear dialogue for games.”
Given its nature as a single player superhero title, one would probably assume that the Iron Man game would indeed be an open world experience, especially given the character’s unique traversal abilities. Interestingly enough though, if that is the case, this will be Motive Studio’s first crack at open world design, so it should be interesting to see how it shapes up.
Meanwhile, another previous job ad also suggested that the Iron Man game would be built on Unreal Engine- read more on that through here.
